Obama’s Great Leap “Forward.” Borrowing from Mao.

Can anyone still deny that the Democrats, Obama, and his administration are not trying to move this country toward socialism? Could it be clearer?

“Forward,” and “Progress for People,” the campaign and convention slogans chosen by Obama have been borrowed from communism. “Progress,” is the word used to mean “socialism” by the left, and has been readopted, in more recent years since “liberal,” and “liberalism,” now arouse such negative emotions among freedom loving conservatives.

Of course the word “people,” as in “Peoples Republic” has long been used in the context of communism and socialism. “Power to the people,” is a popular phrase with roots in communism, and also, “workers,” as in “Workers of the World Unite.”

So, the Democrats are showing us very boldly who they really are, and what the agenda of Obama is. The mask is off. They can no longer hide.

"Forward," closely tied to the idea of "progress," is a well-known leftist battle cry, rooted in Marxist dialectical materialism, with its notion of history's inexorable march towards the workers' paradise. "Forward" has a distinguished pedigree among communists and socialists.

Most characteristic of this preaching [of the Great Leap Forward] was its utopianism, the promise of a bright future just in the offing, "three years of suffering leading to a thousand years of happiness." -- Franz Schurmann writing in Ideology and Organization in Communist China

Can there be doubt in anyone's mind why we shouldn't continue down this path? It seems very clear where we are headed with Obama.

The "forward" slogan and symbol is just creepy, and much of why is explained in the quotes in the OP's post.

Obama does not even pretend not to be putting America on a path towards European socialism. That is what his base wants. If we go broke doing it that's ok too.

I suppose you don't think that social evolution has anything to do with it? Oh wait you don't believe in any kind of evolution? European societies are much older than ours. It's not hard to see where western society is headed. I don't necessarily agree with the changes, but that won't stop it. Better to try and steer it.

So if the European model leads to bankruptcy we should just follow them over the cliff? Your definition of social evolution may mean a life of laziness and more control by a central government, but that is not everyone's definition thank God.

As if you Republicans were not nutty (and desperate) enough already, you are now seeking guidance from Glenn Beck.

Talk about the blind leading the blind....

Is progress really such a dirty word to you? Are you against progress? Do you want to move backwards?

And People? Really? That's a bad word too?

I guess you have no problem with "Corporations are People" because it starts with the word "corporations" and that's what really matters in America, right?

Seriously, you will take ANYTHING and turn it into a negative. I'd hate to be such a negative Nancy like you.

You don't take yourself seriously, do you? I mean, do you go back and read what you write and just shake your head? It's stunning to me the kind of things you will somehow turn into a negative.

And one last thing: Democratic Socialism and Communism are entirely different things. They are seriously not even close. Did you ever study politics or did you just read some blogs, listen to conservative talk radio and watch Fox News?

Hurry...call Scott Walker and let him know...

Scott Walker and Barack Obama Have the Same Campaign Slogan, Who is the Commie Pinko Now? | PR Watch

I embrace the "Forward" slogan. Will the right wing grow some integrity and embrace theirs? "Backwards"
