In the debate, Romney astounded Obama and millions of Americans by insisting that his post-Obamacare plan will still provide coverage for people with Pre-existing conditions.
It WILL NOT, of course, but that fact did not slow down Romney for a second last night. It was left to his manager, Eric Fernstrom, to explain to a dubious press after the debate that, OF COURSE people with Pre-existing conditions will be covered by Romney's plan. All that has to happen is, ALL FIFTY STATES WILL HAVE TO INDIVIDUALLY PASS THEIR OWN VERSIONS OF OBAMACARE:
That is not what he said. He said it will be up to the states to do what they feel is right and would like to see them not discriminate against the sick. This thread is YOUR big lie.
It will only cover preexisting conditions IF they have had previous coverage without a lapse...we have that same stipulation in place now. Romney was not clear about how much of a lapse..that could be 1 day! He had no clear answers..about a lot of things!
I find it funny that Obama is attacking Romney for wanting to give seniors a "voucher", because insurance industries will pick the healthiest members. Didnt anyone tell Obama that obamacare doesnt allow that taking place?
Pre existing conditions have been covered by law since Clinton. Of course you have had to have insurance previously but it covers most situations.
It didn't cover my son's "situation". After he timed-out on our family policy, he was on his own. Due to Pre-existing conditions, he could not get coverage, till Obamacare passed. Now, he has full coverage. But if Romney succeeds in repealing Obamacare, he'll be back where he started.
I gotta think my son's case is not unique.
Romney's "plan"- "let very state do what it can", will result in 72 million Americans being without insurance:
That is not what he said. He said it will be up to the states to do what they feel is right and would like to see them not discriminate against the sick. This thread is YOUR big lie.
"I would like to see them not discriminate" is not a PLAN. It is wishful thinking.
People: insurance reform is NOT healthcare reform!
Any state could have already insisted that the insurance companies allowed to do business in that state also recognize pre=existing conditions!
Plus, Romney said he would make sure that this was a mandate.
So you are simply incorrect on this one.
Romney will MANDATE that states cover Pre-existing conditions Do you have a link for that???
I HAVE heard Romney say, that persons PREVIOUSLY INSURED would still be covered, but that's NOT the same thing as saying ALL people with Pre-existing conditions can find coverage. That was one of the main reasons we needed Obamacare in the first place. Everybody buys in, so insurance companies can AFFORD to cover PEC cases.
Romney likes to play bait-and-switch with this. He'll say he favors coverage for PEC in an interview, then leave it to his staff to come in the next day and explain he didn't mean it. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE WAKE OF THE DEBATE.
How in the world can StinkProgress even come to this conclusion when NOBODY knows what the states will do?! They even have a number without knowing anything? Another big lie by you. I see this is going to be the MO for you guys now, just making **** up.
