I think Obama will try too hard in the second debate. Romney likely won't augment his strategy much but I think Obama will come across as too aggressive. His campaign has said already that he plans on being more so in this one...I think it will backfire on him...or at least I hope it does.
Yup potential for a major backfire. It's a townhall setting he's going to have to work hard to weave in pot shots against Mitt and still answer the questions from the audience.
Is he willing to degrade the office of the Presidency further to calm the panic of his liberal base?
So is Obama going to go "ghetto" next week? Should be fun to watch.
Nope. Obama is about as ghetto as George Will.
Though I think he runs the risk of seeming angry, imperious, and condescending. But after last week, I think no one will blame him for coming back hard. He should. Romney is selling snake oil, and he owes it to the public to point that out ruthlessly.

I don't think the liberal base is the problem. It is the independents who want to see someone project confidence and make their case.
He tried to show persidential restraint and look what that got him. No, he needs to be very assertive, but with discipline, of course. I have a feeling he can do it.
You could be right. Obama definitely does not have Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan's easy charm. He is more serious by nature. He But to be honest, I would rather see the pissed Obama than an Obama who lets Etch a Sketch seize the narrative. Romney is a complete bull**** artist, and his opponent should point that out. I mean you cannot be president without any core principles.
lol...we'll have to agree to disagree on the first part. I'm not going to say Romney is perfect for us but I do believe what he has outlined will be better for the economy long term.
Second part...agreed. I believe that Romney has core principles...I believe that Obama does as well. Both parties have changed positions on certain issues. It isn't worth going tit for tat on everything but romney has changed on abortion...we all know that. Obama recently moved a little on gay marriage. It is what it is. The question is what do you personally believe the scope of the government is and which candidate more consistently emphasizes how you feel. Romney hits a chord with myself and it appears the President does with you. I guess in November we'll see which hits the chords with the biggest chunk of us.
Really? I've seen Obama do NOTHING for the middle class for four years-
Narcissism" often means egoism, vanity, conceit, or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism or an indifference to the plight of others
All he has done is shove Obamacare down our throats...

I don't know about you, but ObamaCare was a tremendous accomplishment for the uninsured in our country, and it came at a pretty good political cost to Obama. Not exactly narcissist behavior. Being a millionaire, and fighting to lower your own taxes (getting a $77,000 break for your dancing horse) while unplugging big bird sounds kind of narcissistic to me.

If I had my a$$ handed to me like obama had his a$$ handed to him..I'd be pissed also....
He's up by 2 in Virginia (still within the margin of error), still losing in Ohio, and it's still a dead heat in Florida--it's turned out to be a very slight movement in the polls. That's not much of a bump for "handing Obama's a$$ to him."

I never said anything about a bump....so not sure where you are going....
But let me ask you this, states that have not been swing states before, are now swing states....why is that?
obama had his a$$ handed to him...70+% agreed.....
