At the Alfred E. SMith dinner for charity, Romeny was hilarious and Obama was also very funny.

Romney Addresses 67th Annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner | RealClearPolitics

Hear are a few punch lines but you will need to watch the video for the set ups. Romey's timing was brilliant.

Romney: I was hoping that President Obama would bring Joe Biden along, because he'll laugh at anything.

Romney: We were chatting pleasantly this evening as if Tuesday didn't happen.

Romney: Usually when I get invited to gatherings like this, it's just to be the designated driver.

Romney: We're down to the final months of the president's term.

Romney: I have my beautiful wife Ann, he has Bill Clinton.

Romney, referring to St. Peter, says skeptics will say "if you've got a Church, you didn't build that."

Romney says Obama's new campaign slogan is "you're better off than you were four weeks ago."

Romney: The president's remarks tonight are brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 trillion.

Romney was terrible at that event. The point of the Al Smith dinner is to show you have a sense of humor and can poke fun at yourself. Almost all of Romney's jokes as you point out were about Obama. The fact that he cannot even joke about himself is telling. Obama on the other hand was great. If you want to see a Republican blowing the Al Smith Dinner out of the park look at George W. Bush, he was terrific.

The point was to be funny and Romney was hilarious and Obama was a little bit funny as well. Most of Obama's jokes also poked fun at Romeny. Lighten up and just accept the fact that BO is going to lose and Romeny is going to fix the economy.

Did you watch the Al Smith dinner? Almost all of Obama's jokes are about himself and there are a fair amount about his first debate performance. It doesn't matter though, Obama will win.

Romney was his typical ass-self trying to score political points at the wrong time in the wrong setting. Romney is incapable of self-deprecating humor. His ego is too outsized for it.

Didn't Dennis Miller write Romney's jokes for him?

Romney scored yet again! In every situation, both serious and funny, he beats BO. The true leader continues to shine.

Yes, I watched both...Romney was hilarious and Obama was also pretty funny.

I see you're a student and probably young. As maybe you've heard the famous quote: "If you aren't a liberal when you're young, then you don't have a heart. If you're not a conservative when you grow up, then you don't have a brain." It's appropriate for me as I was a Socialist with Communist leanings when young but those poliices lead to disaster...which is why despite some reservations with Romney, we have to get Obama out of office so you and my kids can have economic opportunity. My fortune is made and Obama will have a seriously tough time getting from me but others deserve the opportunity to make theirs which Socialism won't give them.
