Like your post, conservatives always have lotsa critcism... but rarely offer any alternatives, and indeed they're usually part of the problem.
• Obama has pushed heavily for education and job training. What has the GOP done, except oppose this at every turn?
• The Southern Strategy, openly admitted to by Lee Atwater and perpetuated by Rove & co... so remind us again how that helps blacks?
• How is it helpful for young black males needing positive role models, to be constantly denigrating the first black POTUS (e.g., via birthers, uppity, re-nigg the welfare president, etc.)?
• Whatever the imperfections of public schools, how does replacing them (or gutting their funding) via private charter schools help educate poor black kids?
Seriously, what specific "alternatives" do conservatives and the GOP ever have to offer anyone (besides the wealthy), except the usual hollow rhetoric, "all tax cuts all the time", etc., and always blaming "lib-ruls"?!
1. One of Obamas first act was to get rid if DCs voucher program
2. Why would a 20 something care about a strategy more than 40 years old and not being used now?
3. Role models don't get folks jobs.
4. One thing charter schools do is act as a self selective mechanism. The kids who want to learn with active parents go to charters while the also rans go to to public schools. At least that's how it's playing out in DC. Liberals want to save everyone but some of these kids are making learning difficult for the rest.
At the end of the day 50 years of liberal control of schools has brought nothing but failure to millions of inner city kids.

Oh, please, the GOP electoral maps of 2008 and 2012 are simply the old Confederacy plus the depopulated midwest.
Though not openly discussed as official strategy, the radical party positions were simply to pander to the rural, white,uneducated, male demographic. That group of voters is stupid enough to think only an illegal immigrant stands between him and a good job, cause, after all, why else did he waste 8 years going to school during one lifetime. That group is stupid enough to think DC is wasting too much of their tax money, despite being in states, counties, and towns that have far higher than US average rates of dependency on Federal aid.
Now what the GOP did not recognize was pandering to this Lowest Common Denominator would cost them the popular vote in 5 of the last 6 POTUS elections, and the wing nuts they ran for Senate in '10 and '12 are the sole reason they failed to take that chamber.
So while I agree they no longer state it openly as their strategy, they still run the Southern Strategy. And now it is costing them elections.
I too doubt this information. If it came from Faux news then we know its wrong, just like all their projections.
News Flash - Romney lost, it doesn't matter how many votes he got, because they weren't enough.
I wouldn't doubt the source as I have seen it other than Fox. With that being said when you are dealing with polling, there is only so much you can break down the various subsets of polls without having higher MOE"s. You can break it down by gender without having much impact MOE wise, you can break it down by race without having much impact MOE wise, you can break it down by age without having much impact MOE wise, However, when you break it down by all of them, other than perhaps white due to the higher sample size, you will have a bit of a MOE fluctuation when you break it down this far.
With that being said I don't think there is any question Romney did better with blacks men 18-29 then he did with black women 18-29. However chances are he didn't do as well as 19% as the exit poll showed among black men 18-29, and didn't do as bad as 1% among black women 18-29 as the exit polls showed.
I have read more than once this week that Romney won 21% of the Black Male vote under 30 according to exit polls. This is 3 times the share McCain won. I would like to know if this is due to the high unemployment rate in this demographic, Obama's stance on gay marriage, statistical outliers?
While this number is still very lopsided, the trend is unmistakable. Republicans can begin to offset Dem minority gains by honing in their philosophy (minus some of the dog whistles which turned otherwise conservative minorities away) to this and other demographics. This is very interesting because this is THE EXACT demographic (young black male) that the left wing media victimizes and extreme right wing media demonize.
Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) is possibly a great start to expanding the tent.

I'm part of the 21%
There were many many reasons not to vote for Obama.
The continuing butchering of Social Values, of course the state of the economy. The high unemployment rate not just in my demographic but the country as a whole, etc.
Obama may have 'pushed heavily' for job training and education, but he's not about to take on civil service workers, and the teachers unions in particular to DEMAND higher standards and higher levels of education for those who teach science and math, two disciplines in which American kids are well behind their foreign counterparts from Europe & the Far East insofar as achievement scores are concerned.
Democrats have destroyed the schools out here in LA and nationwide which used to be among the very best in the nation, but destroying that DC voucher program tells all of us that he's just not serious despite what he says.
His party continues to be against dropping the H1-B visa program altogether, and he hasn't said a word about reforming our immigration laws which prevent, or make it next-to-impossible for foreign students to stay here and start businesses here after graduating from an American university; those roadblocks still exist, and he's done nothing to demolish them.

Blacks under 30: Romney, 3% (no, it doesn't break it down by gender but perhaps you've had enough math -- about the 5th grade should do -- to understand that there's no way that 3% squares with anything approaching even double-digits for black males, much less 21%).
I'm glad the GOP electoral strategy of dog whistle racism and demonizing the first black President is getting some positive results from the black community! I'm sure that was a big part of their plan to reach out to minority voters.
