As a democrat, if a repub wins I prefer it to McCain. At least he thinks torture is useless and wrong. Lieberman is trying to pull independents away from Barack Obama towards McCain. But, this could backfire as it will remind conservatives why they don't like McCain. Lieberman is a hawk, but liberal on social issues.

I believe lieberman is prolife is he not? As a hard core fiscal and social conservative,I think Lieberman is a voice of reason in the democrat party. Why would independents would vote for Obama?

I think it will do little to nothing to effect McCain. I think McCain is pretty useless for a wide variety of reasons. Amnesty and our border is a big part of that. He's also too big on the global warming scams. He will not get much off a Lieberman endorsement. Besides, they have been big buddies for a long time anyway. Anyone who didn't see this coming must have been staring the opposite direction.

Who cares who Liberman endorses? Might as well read "Jon Stewart endorses______". In fact Stewart's endorsement would be better than Liberman's. I wish Liberman would do what he wants to do and join the Republicans. They are the only ones who like him.

I'm pretty sure Lieberman's pro choice if he hasn't flip flopped. He claimed to be in 2004 when he was VP candidate. He's good on the environment. Independent voters like mavericks, and I think McCain's lost that title. They're also socially moderate and fiscally conservative. The republican party isn't fiscally conservative anymore. Independent voters are more opposed to the war than republican voters.

(chuckling) I think a Lieberman endorsement is a lot like like the kiss of death it would be to have George W Bush showing up to give a speech on a candidates behalf.

You will hear in the distance ever so subtlety... "Run Forest run"

Maybe Lieberman's endorsement will bring other moderates out of the closet. I certainly would vote McCain over HillBill or Obama. McCain is probably fairly popular with the Independents, and their vote is key.

Lieberman would bring the zealots out of the closet. Lieberman is far from moderate and in fact is far to the right of Rudy Giuliani and even further to the right of reality.

Lieberman can't be trusted by either side of the political aisle which is why he stands alone on Lieberman island.

Should I assume you mean "the kiss" lieberman planted on bush. If McCain wins the nomination, it will be interesting to see if MoveOn or one the other groups (are they called 547's? ) uses it in a political ad. LOL
