Mary Burke is another rich Dem female candidate who while professing to love and protect the common woman, manufactures 1.5 million of her bikes, per year, (Trek) in China. Oh, Mary does make 10,000 per year in good old Wisconsin. How's that for a jobs program?
Oh, and did I mention Trek, aka Mary Burke, sells her bikes for way more per bike, than is justified. Pity the poor, student-loaned UM student who has to pay the exorbitant price, just for stress reduction from student life.
Quote:
In 1983, the Trek 520 sold for $318 which, adjusted for inflation to today's dollars, would be $903. Today, the Trek 520 actually sells for more than it did then, $1,490. The main difference is that in 1983, the Trek 520 was made in the USA and in 2013 it's made in China.
Mary's life as a young Trek Executive in Europe was so stressful, that after awhile she had to take a Sabbatical. Yes, a Sabbatical, but not just any Sabbatical, but a Snowboarding Sabbatical. In Colorado. Wait, it's Tuesday, this must be Argentina. The Sabbatical has been variously described as 3 months, 9 months, a year, even by Mary herself. Heck, who keeps up with time, when you are having so much fun. Guess, the single Mom, working two minimum wage jobs to make ends meet, can do the same thing, when she gets stressed. Right?
Nobody can agree on the particulars. Some news stories and blogs say the sabbatical lasted three months, others six or nine months or perhaps even a year. The excursion has been described as taking place in Argentina. Or Colorado. Or both. With one friend or several, in 1993 or maybe 1994.

There is a reason for all this confusion.
The details still do not come easily, even for Burke herself.
Why do conservatives hate successful women? Does she threaten your manhood? And who really cares how long her vacation was 20 years ago? Grow up dude.
Yes, we hate successful women soooooooooooo much that we nominated Meg Wittman, former CEO of ebay for California Governor in 2010, unfortunately her career credentials were as solid as Burke's and she lost the election accordingly.
Limp response. She was born into the position and money. One might say, White dem privilege, but not self made.
Don't want a Governor, or anyone in a leadership position, who cannot take the stress of leadership. She might have to take a snowboarding Sabbatical when confronted with leading a state. Born into money is what allowed her to follow a boyfriend around the world.

Yep. The last thing the world needs is another Sarah Palin.
I thought republicans were all in favor of people who inherit money living on the trust fund and going into politics to see how much more could be extorted from lobbyists in exchange for the "correct" votes on issues. Whining about someone doing it sounds like jealousy. I didn't hear all the complaining from the republicans when Mitt ran. Why is that, you think...?
You are absolutely right about inherited money, which is why your response is the original hypocrisy. If one rails against Gov Romney's circumstances, then one cannot not rail against Mary Burke and her silver spoon life.
And THIS is is the candidate the Democratic Party of Wisconsin thinks is best for us? It's really time to replace Mike Tate with a progressive.
See how weak, unoriginal; formulaic your responses are? Try again. Or, try something other than a standard, tired and trite Dem talking point.

I think it is visa versa: Democrats hate successful women if they happen to be Republicans, just like they hate minorities if they are Republicans and even more if they are conservative.

OMG, all the Democrats did was tear him apart for all his money among other things. What are you talking about and as for Sarah P. she did not inherit her money. Actually it is amazing how many successful and popular Republicans, both men and women were raised in poverty or close to poverty.
Amazing. Ms Burke isn't even original in her 'jobs' plan. She hires people who plagiarize. She first failed to do due diligence on the hire, failed to thoroughly review the plan and failed in general oversight.
Hmmm. Democrat Senator John Walsh had to quit the Montana Senate race due to plagiarism. Must be a family trait.

Large portions of Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke’s jobs plan for Wisconsin appear to be copied directly from the plans of three Democratic candidates who ran for governor in previous election cycles.
All sections plagiarized by Ms Burke were from failed campaigns by the way.
Quote:
Burke’s economic plan “Invest for Success” copies nearly-verbatim sections from the jobs plans of Ward Cammack, who ran for Tennessee governor in 2009 before withdrawing from the race, a 2008 plan from Delaware Gov. Jack Markell, now-Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe’s plan from his failed-2009 bid, and John Gregg who ran for governor of Indiana in 2012 and lost to Mike Pence.
