There will be some hilarity after the Republicans take the Senate. The kinds of bipartisan legislation that Harry Reid has bottled up will get passed and sent to Obama. The Keystone Pipeline, redefining "full time employment" to 40 hours for purposes of Obamacare, sensible limitations on job-killing EPA expansions...what will Obama do when these things hit his desk?
It's called a veto. And since there is no way the Republicans will be able to override a presidential veto, all this giddiness on the part of the right is just so much entertainment for the rest of us.

What an obstructionist! Doesn't he know Congress is the voice of the American people?
Seriously though, at least this would provide a strong contrast. The GOP would no longer be the anti-Obama party (aka the party of 'no'), they would be able to show that they stand for certain ideas and beliefs, and Obama can take it or leave it. If the American people like what they see, it will pay huge dividends for the GOP. Things like Keystone, fixes for Obamacare, reigning in the EPA are not going to be politically unpopular. Heck, even some of the GOP's most "extreme" legislation such as voter ID laws and banning abortions after 20 weeks have widespread support across the political spectrum, if polling is to be believed. They could pass repeal and replace laws for obamacare. Many such bills have been written and haven't made it past the house. If it gets through the senate, Democrats can't accuse them of just wanting to take away people's health care/going back to the old status quo/ not having a plan to replace Obamacare anymore.
Of course, the GOP could also do none of that stuff, and spend their time grandstanding and passing far-reaching legislation that has no chance of becoming law, just to make a point. I would hope after all this time, they would not squander this opportunity by doing more of that.

Then he, and his party, will have to own it.

So we move from a do nothing Democratic Congress to a do nothing Democratic President.. Got it..
My thoughts exactly. If both houses start passing bills and the Pres. keeps the veto pen handy the Americans will expect him to address his reasoning.
The senate can't pass a bill without bi-partisan agreement - same as now - no matter who holds the gavel. I've said before and I will repeat though, the Republicans are more likely to face challenges in getting agreement among themselves than getting Democrats to go along with them. We have seen this in the House for 4 years now. The only thing that passes there is right wing strawmen that will not get cloture in the senate.

No, we move from a do-nothing split Congress to a do-nothing Republican majority in both houses Congress. In other words, nothing much will change, despite all the giddiness and high-fiving from Conservatives.

ok, a bill doesn't get past but it does get a chance to be heard: either it doesn't pass or in some cases it does and the Pres. does not sign it: regardless, it will show the American the congress is trying. If nothing gets passed who are you going to blame?

Hit the links. Like he always does. He is an expert in ignoring his job, hoping all those pesky details go away. And leaving the decision making to Jarrett.
