He is a Progressive Flip-Flopper and former Democrat. He goes with what ever is the most popular that day. Regardless if it is 180º for his previous breeze on his ass.
He could not have made it in Texas politics as a democrat after the Reagan Era.

Quote:
A raging liberal he was not. Elected to represent a slice of rural West Texas in the state House of Representatives in 1984, as a Democrat, Perry, a young rancher and cotton farmer, gained an early reputation as a fiscal conservative. He was one of a handful of freshman “pit bulls,†so named because they sat in the lower pit of the House Appropriations Committee, where they fought to keep spending low.
But Perry cast some votes and took a few stands that seem to be at odds with the fiscal conservatism he champions today. The most vivid example is Perry’s support of the $5.7 billion tax hike in 1987, signed by Republican Gov. Bill Clements but opposed by most of the GOP members. The bill passed by a relatively close 78-70 in the Texas House. Even without adjusting for inflation, the legislation triggered the largest tax increase ever passed in modern Texas, according to Dale Craymer, president of the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association. Today, taking inflation into account, it would be worth more than $11 billion.

Republicans have a great deal more gerrymandering, voter suppression, deceptive marketing, and lying to do to tip the electoral college in their favor. With their atroicious, unpopular ideology, and disastrous history of failed policies, Pubs have a better chance trying to set up a space station on the surface of the Sun.

Which does not negate the fact that he is currently elected as a Republican. He isnt a City democrat as you claimed of immigration reform supporters. Even worse, you are saying the people of your party are that easily fooled by a (former)Democrat.

Well, we did elect Ann Richards.....
You should see the filth the Republicans inherited after the Reagan Era.

Rick Perry just wants to be the popular guy, going which every way the wind blows.
Obama just wants to be popular with his ego.

If you consider him filth, thats fine with me, but he was 3 times elected by your party to be governor.

Your argument was that it was City Democrats that were for immigration reform and that just isnt true. I understand you dont like Democrats, but at some point you have to stop and realize that many in your own party are pro immigration reform as well.

The Senate immigration reform bill passed with 68 votes, thats 14 republicans.

The city democrats are not the majority in Texas, to make you popular among the state.
Now extinct, Southern Democrats, is where the term Conservative values comes from.
