The same might back either Ted Cruz, Rick Perry or Mike Huckabee--but they're all too far right for nationwide election.
Mike Huckabee is not far right. Rick Perry is a hack, and so it Cruz. So, that leaves Huckabee.

Huckabee (Google it, it's there) has indicated that he believes that wives should "graciously" submit to their husbands. That is a very far-right religious view.

Don't get me wrong. I like Huckabee. I just don't think he can win on the national stage.

Agreed. Something inside me makes me cringe at the thought of a third Bush in office. But I will not discount ANYONE who wants to give it a shot. I want to hear what the man has to say and see how he handles the smear-machine that will try hard to rip him to shreds. I'm skeptical but will watch and listen. I just don't believe this country has the luxury of dismissing someone out of hand simply because his father and brother before him held the office he will now be seeking. We're in big trouble in this country. If I think in two years that he is the right person for the job, I'll vote for him.

Jeb Bush would face the same obstacles as Romney did in the 2012 GOP primaries. Remember that there was one after another 'not Romney' and each of them imploded. The 2016 GOP field will likely be much stronger than in 2012, It is not likely that all of the more conservative alternatives, the 'not Bushes' will implode.

If Jeb is smart, he won't run. Instead form an alliance with Marco Rubio and let Rubio run. They would fill the same niche, but Rubio would not have the baggage. I think Rubio might be the one guy who could appeal to both establishment and grass roots Republicans.

Sure--really smart people would have Rubio run. Because his popularity among Republicans has recently gone from 4% to 3%. Makes total sense in some bizarro world.
