Newsbreak, the country is no longer in support of the Republican party. Dems have won the popular vote in 5 out of the last 6 elections, and it will easily walk to at a minimum 6 out of 7 in 2016. This last election looked like it did due in large part to which senate seats were up, not to mention horrible gerrymandering. The strong majority of this country does not connect with the Republican platform.
funny your way at looking at things with your democrat/liberal glasses.
Republicans have the MAJORITY of the governorships and state legislatures of the Nation. They have the House and Senate.....in the last 4 presidential elections they have split 2-2 with the Democrats.
but I guess for you the nation rejects the REPUBLICAN platform. .......I guess we are a 1 party country, huh?
I guess the "majority" of the country only shows up to vote for Democrat Candidates for the W.H. and forget about the rest of the government.

How about explaining gerrymandering when it comes to governors and senators? Explain 3 liberal, or so called liberal states electing a Republican governor? Tell us where you are getting your facts about the strong majority of our country and who they are connecting with? Explain the youngest member of the congress being a white female and on and on. Sorry what the majority of oir country wants is freedom to do what we want as long as it isn't hurting others and keeping us safe from terrorists. The rest of the garbage our Pres. pushes is not what sways people to vote liberal.
democrats think that the only branch of government that has power and runs things is the executive branch......they called in sick the day their school covered American Civics.
they forget Republicans have the majority of the governorships and state legislatures and they control the house and senate.......and the only thing they can brag about is a democrat in the W.H. who is pretty much a lame duck president who can only talk a good game but can't do anything......LMAO!!!
I read your post in full. And yes, he probably had a typical "black American" experience. It might be news to you but Black Americans often go to college and become professionals and we're all not alike..
No one is claiming blacks do not go to college or are not professionals, but you have to admit, he didn't have a typical black American esperience. Michelle came closer than he did. He was raised in a privleged family though not particularly functional. His grandparents were white and he grew up in a very liberal state, attending mostly private schools. This isn't a picture of typical black families.
The party in charge of the white house also typically loses both houses of congress during the second half of a two-term president's second term. It happened with Obama, W. Bush, Clinton and Reagan. Also it is known that the Democratic base voters only vote during Presidential elections, not with mid-terms. This created a perfect storm for Republicans this last mid-term. The Republicans can spin that America wants them but the fact is when when it comes to the popular vote since H. W. Bush beat Dukakis in 1988, the Democrats had more votes and also won 5 out of 7 times electorally.
Yes, you are correct about the second mid term elections, but what you are not considering or are choosing to ignore, is the % the Republicans picked up last year or how even the pollsters were off on this one.

I don't think we expected all of those swings in the majority. I expected a Republican majority because of the perception of policies not working (though they have just a little too late) but not every single race that wasn't a lock being Republican. I also didn't expect a Democratic house because they needed to win a bit too many seats during a mid-term and the second mid-term.

No they're not claiming, but people are definitely inferring such. I think you're failing to understand my point. There isn't a typical "black" overall life experience. Black Americans as a group are very diverse. There are black professionals, black farmers, blacks that live in urban centers, black military families, etc. What is the typical experience in your opinion? But before you answer that, do you think we'll allow white conservatives to create a small box that defines 10s of millions of people? A box framed in bigotry! Especially being the primary antagonist to the people seeking equality throughout America's history...
Let me add, Obama's situation is exceptional when contrasted against all Americans. Not just black Americans...
If I might ask, what exactly is the conservative beef with Warren (at least more specific than she's a 'leftist', 'commie', yada-yada)?
She helped establish the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, has consistently fought for the shrinking middle class who rightfully believe "the system is rigged", while suggesting that the rich should pay more taxes (egads!), and she's hammered banks and so-called 'regulators' when no one else would. Also horror of horrors, she pushed for students to be able to take out government education loans at the same rate that banks like Goldmann Sachs enjoy! But perhaps her biggest 'sin' was publicly outing the recent Wall Street budget giveaway that virtually guts Dodd-Frank (you know, the banking limits specifically designed to prevent another Great Recession)?! So what's not to like (other than she's smart, female and a very persuasive Lib-rul)?!
The real mystery is why some one would ask a conservative why they wouldn't vote for a liberal.
