if marriage is a right, why do you have to apply for it?......why have requirements by the states?
Because you don't apply for marriage. Applying indicates that you can be denied. All two people are doing is getting a legal document that is joining them in a marriage.

The Courts and Judges really haven't been divided on this isdue. Almost every ban has been overturned from Judges appointed by Democrats and Republicans. I personally see a 6-3 decision by the SupremeCourt.

Just because you have to apply for a marriage license doesn't mean it isn't a right, but of course your technically not applying. You are registering to get a license.

marriage is a fundamental right??? ...where does it say that in the U.S. constitution?

anything that you have to apply to get a license is not a fundamental right.

we shall wait on the 5 justices on what they rule on this.

I do agree it is a 5-4 or 6-3 vote, as most things tend to be..in recent decades. This is a fairly moderate court, after all.

That doesn't make Romney any less of a loser. Losing twice, with one being in the general election should be more than enough for him to realize he is a political loser. But then again, this is politics and politics breeds narcissism, so there is a good chance Romney still thinks he could win a Presidential election.

a right is an entitlement given to you by the constitution from birth.....Marriage license like driver's license is not a right.

your opinion of 6-3 by the S.C. is just that opinion....I see this going 5 to 4 either way, just like DOMA .....it will show the Supreme Court Justices like the rest of the country are divided on this.

You should first learn what fundamental rights are because it is clear you have no idea what they are. And second, you DO NOT apply for a marriage license, you register for one.

5 judges? Which court will you be watching because it won't be the Supreme Court?

You can't be born married, you have to be a consenting adult to be able to get married in this country. Based on your posts, I would say you might be too young to get married in the first place, which would explain your lack of knowledge on marriage.

You register to get married just like you would register to Vote. Just because you need to register, be of a certain age, etc doesn't mean it's not a right, Judge after Judge is ruling it is.

I think Roberts will join the majority in this decision making it 6-3.

At the end of the day, 5 or 9 votes legally means exactly the same thing.
