But who knows? Maybe some evidence will surface eventually.
Could it be possible that Spence Jackson, as official spokesman for Schweich, could have quietly passed on the fact that Schweich had some Jews in his family tree?
Sure. If a paid professional sees he's on a sinking ship, what better way to hop aboard another that's more seaworthy? There are lots of well paid folks like him everywhere in state politics. If Jackson realized he made a fatal career mistake, it could have driven him into suicide. Professionals kill themselves all the time for that reason.
What I do know is suicide is sometimes infectious. Since people of like minds also attract each other, it's equally possible that Jackson could have had similar mental problems of his own.
Or not. Maybe Jackson was just having big money trouble, or was a closet alcoholic, or killed himself in revenge for losing custody of a kid, or was one of those people who let grief lead them into thinking of dying themselves.
No matter what the causes were, the state of Missouri needs to do some serious reflection about their prejudices and willingness to spread rumors. And that's a fact.
