? All appeals have been heard. It went from the District Court (ssm won) to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals (ssm lost) to the Supreme Court (ssm won). The Supreme Court. Appeal to who?

Takes about 3 weeks. Losers can ask SCOTUS for reconsideration. They say "no", and it's game, set, and match.

Maybe those states will succeed from the USA !!?? Both Texas and Alabama are not going to perform any same-sex marriage, ABC NEWS Reported. Time will tell. Backlash is Strong.

Succeed? More like they will fail. The word you are looking for is secede, and no, they won't be seceding any time soon.

And yes, they will be performing SSM very soon as well, or they will find federal troops on their doorstep, a la Alabama in 1965. SSM is the law of the land. They will comply, and probably sooner rather than later.

Rehearings or reconsiderations are very rare. From my readings I'd say Orly Taitz (who has much experience in the the matter but still never learns -ever the optimist) summarizes it best:

"1.Federal Rules of Civil Procedure allow a motion for reconsideration to be granted, when new evidence was discovered, a mistake of law or fact occurred, or if it is warranted in the interest of justice."

That is a tough hurdle for the states to meet and the Court can still just privately review the motion and say "nope".

Orly said that??? Wow, that's surprisingly...coherent.

It's 'secede', genius.

And, no, no one is reporting that "Texas and Alabama are not going to perform any same-sex marriage" - marriages, in fact, have been happening in both states since yesterday.

Same-Sex Marriage: First Couple to Marry in Texas Waited 54 Years

There will be some foot-dragging, but it will be no different that when Texas and Alabama were forced to recognize and offer interracial marriages 48 years ago. There will be no secession, and if you think there will then you are seriously delusional. Once Circuit Courts have officially certified the USSC's directive (contrary to common belief, the high court does not issue directives itself but orders the Circuit Courts to do so per its rulings), local officials will have to comply. Some will grandstand, knowing that people like you will cheer. Then federal courts will threaten them with contempt of court charges if they do not follow the law, and they will fold like cheap suits. And you, somehow, will be utterly shocked at this kabuki dance that has played out this way time after time in American history.

Republican candidates know this issue is over, though some of them also know that plenty of people - such as you - are gullible enough to think otherwise, and are pandering to that gullibility. Bush has got it right - he's on record as opposing efforts to amend the Constitution - or, more precisely, he's not treating Republican primary and caucus voters like the clueless saps that Scott Walker is, because they both know perfectly well that there is zero chance of such a proposed amendment ever clearing either house of Congress or getting anywhere close to the 3/4ths of states necessary to ratify it. Rubio and Graham pretty much have echoed Bush's response.

So far, they're the only adults in the room on this issue among Republican Presidential candidates, and they're the only ones treating their prospective voters like adults - the rest of the candidates are treating the GOP primary and caucus electorate like fools.

I hope they do! It'll make them look even more out of touch with reality and mainstream America.

I think their efforts would better be spent trying to explain why they deserve to even be taken seriously, given their atrocious ideology and history of utter failure when Conservatives have their way.

Conservatives have completely lost on the gay marriage fight.
