obama released his COLB in june 2008 ( the first president/candidate to do so ). the facts on that COLB were confirmed by the HI department of health in october 2008.

because HI had switched formats. the COLB obama released in 2008 has been the standard form, with some minor variations, since 2001 ( the copy he released was issued in 2007 ). he had to make a special request and the HI department of health made a special exception to get him a certified copy of the "long-form".

I believe the black paper with white lettering comes from microfiche. My husband has an official copy of his birth certificate with black paper and white lettering and it is official and bears the seal so, most likely not a forgery. The form is exactly like the one my husband has when I looked at it close up.
