In Tennessee, Fred Thompson is still on the ballot, this irks me as alot of people might think he re-joined the race and waste their votes on him. This will pull votes away from other candidates who are still running. This sounds like a fishy deal to me.

Yep. The deadline was early January. They stayed in just long enough to influence Super Tuesday. Those votes won't count and I believe the delegates will be free to choose at the convention.

Default Don't Vote For Their Delegates If They Are Out Of The Race

Don't vote for their delegates, either. I just read in an Illinois newspaper feedback column that Fred Thompson's delegates are bound to him but at the convention, they'll go for their second choice and that one said they were going for McCain. In other words, don't make a protest vote for someone who is out of the race or you may see your vote go to the candidate you like the least.

I was by no means a Thomspon supporter and would rank him near the bottom (maybe only ahead of Tancredo who had no chance), but I think the longer he stayed around the more it would help McCain. I get the impressio that Thompson supporters were more apt to vote for Huckabee or Romney rather than McCain
