Other than fundamentalist and orthodox religious communities, to different cultures really separate themselves from the larger "American" culture? No, no they don't.

If there's anything the US, and the other Anglosphere countries does better than than the Europeans, it's absorbing immigrant communities into the larger culture. So no, JEB, multiculturalism is good for America. It's religious zealotry that we need to fight, but you're not about to speak out against that now are you?

france england america, multiculturalism pluralism diversity whatever you want to call it, is the number 1 challenge of the 21st century.
we dont have a common set of core values, a mega problem.
yesterday an extreme leftist engineer a german said to me that egyptian engineers speak perfect english and love their kids just like we do, he said no difference between them and us aside from a few crazies that like to bomb cities.
he said the problem was ignorance and lack of education,
i pointed out all the bombings were master minded by highly educated people.
i did not point out that he is assuming bek they speak english all conversations are the same in arabic
i did not ask if he has read the quran ( i have twice).
there is a reason smart people blow up cities in the mideast, read the quran, all of it. dont let other people tell you what it says read it for yourself (quote form martin luthor)

All this multi-culturism has de-unified us.
America has historical culture that is no longer prominent.
All this diversity and embracement crap and we are more divided than ever.
All these groups stick to themselves and their little religious or ethnic cliques.
We are self segregating through diversity.
I feel bad for my kids, I don't know what the future holds but my time here is running out and I don't like the road we're headed down as a nation.
We need to somehow unify .
I wouldn't move to Mexico and expect everyone to start speaking English and cook me hamburgers. I'd learn fluent Spanish and eat Mexican food.

Oh, btw...there is nothing wrong with religious or ethnic pride and celebrating your ancestry.
Nothing at all, it's great. To a point.

excuse me-- original was INDIAN-
then the English -Spaniard and French showed up then-they took Texas from the Mexicans -the Irish and Italians came, and they stole the Africans and brought them by force, along with many Chinese - kept some islands like P-Rico and invited everybody to work!

should I go on with OUR history?

we NOT talking about your back yard here.

This (the bold) came as a shock to me, and I keep up with politics (or at least more so than the majority of my acquaintances, which is sad).

How is it possible that a former POTUS's son and the brother of another POTUS can be married for 30 years to a woman who doesn't speak fluent English? (I Googled it and, reportedly, she only speaks in 15-second English "sound bites" that are scripted for her.) And what does it say about her that in 30 years, she has been unable or has refused to become fluent in the language of her adopted country?

I would never vote for Jeb, regardless of who his wife was, but if I were undecided about voting for him, this would be a deal breaker for me. Although it does not upset me at all that she is a native of Mexico or that she speaks Spanish in her home, it would bother me if the "First Lady" of the United States could not speak the language of most of its citizens because it shows disrespect and an unwillingness to adapt to the dominant culture -- and possibly also arrogance.

Wow imagine that. My respect for Bush just went up a point.

Multiculturalism is a bad thing. This is America and anyone that sneaks in or immigrates legally needs to assimilate to our culture.

America used to be the Great Melting pot but now every group is sitting in their own simmering pot ready to boil over.

United we stand divided we fall.
