Well if I were in a position to alter the behavior of the country's citizens, and there was a specific law against what I wanted to do, I would ask to see a specific law that states I am not allowed to do what I had intended.
If that law is not written in black and white, and is merely assumption, then I would be in my legal right to do what I intended.

It's kind of like, "show me the money"..
show me proof.
A group of state/federal laws is not enough.
I would want exact written law stating the fact, not opinion.

Supreme Court decisions have the force of law, I feel kind of silly telling you that, it's something we learn in 8th grade civics class..or are you just playing me for some reason?
