Thats how globalization works. GM built plants in China to provide product for the Chinese market, the Chinese are learning the very latest tech from GM, Volvo, VW, etc. that have built plants there, and will be selling a Chinese-brand car in the semi-near future. Same with airplanes, Boeing is teaching them to build large commercial jet planes, in another decade they will be producing their own.
GM has been using the Chinese built, ubiquitous 3.4V6 in their cars built all over the world for about 10 years or so. That engine is totally produced in China.
