This election will be the most important election in the history of this country.
Many very important issues, including the survival of this nation, as a nation, are on the line.
Never before has the country been faced with so many complex issues, and we had better get it right this time, or I believe we will not get a second chance.
I have lived for 77 years, and have seen many changes, some for the good, and unfortunately, some very bad.

This election coming up will have a huge impact on how we proceed as a country, into the future.
As a voter, you need to know, your vote does count.
Sure the electoral college has the final say, but they are ruled on how the nation voted for any one candidate.
I have read many post on this forum where some so upset with one particular candidate, would vote for the opposition candidate just to not have to vote for the candidate they originally wanted.

Look, this election is far to important to be playing musical chairs.
Pick the candidate that you feel best fulfills your expectations, one you feel will help in solving the problems this country faces.
Many important decisions will have to be made by the next President, so consider that when you cast your vote, but more importantly, CAST YOUR VOTE.

Many in other countries have died in their efforts to be able to vote.
In this country we are complacent when it comes to voting., and that unfortunately is because the party system is a failure.
To many times candidates are in the pocket of big business.
This is unfortunate, but still does no lessen the need for the public to fulfill their right to the voting booth.
On one hand you can sit home, and **** and moan that your vote doesn't matter, so why vote, and on the other hand you will never have a better chance to do something about being heard through your vote.

In this election, more than any other in history, the American people need to be heard.
Unlike all elections in the past, this one will determine the future of this country, if there is to be one.
Regardless of who you vote for, please take the time to vote.

Bob.

I do not disagree with anything you said.

But to be honest with you, your hip-hip-hooray speech, while truthful and enlightening, is wasted here. Folks here either will or will not vote. They have already made up their minds (although I can see some changing their mind in the voting booth) and posting here gives them (and me) an opportunity to vent and let our ego's think that our words will change the minds of the multitudes. But alas, your valiant effort is in vain ... but I intend to rep you for a magnificent effort.

El Nox

I generally agree with the jist of your post, but you stray into hyperbole in a few spots, mainly:

It isn't even as important as the 2008 Election, which occurred at a time when the US was plunging into an economic abyss so deep, it overshadowed the two wars the nation was mired in.

The winner of 2016 election will have issues to face, but they'll be relatively mild compared to the unmitigated disasters Bush handed Obama in January of 2009.

Just a few issues to mention so you can compare 2008 to the present.
Number one, ISIS.
Number two, Iran.
Number three, North Korea.
Number four, our standing in the world.
Number five, weak military policies.
Number six, Putin in a quest to take over the world, one country at a time.
Number seven, domestic issues facing this country.
Number eight,world trade
Now if you don't believe this election is the most important one ever held in this country, you have a lot to learn.

Bob.

Bob! Except number seven, all of those issues are just minor issues, Bob!

It is time to get big money out of politics and sweep out the politicians who are beholden to wealthy interests whose sole purpose in life is to undermine the middle class. How can anyone believe that someone who take bribe money from Wall Street, Big Pharma and the insurance companies have the best interests of the middle class in mind? They dont. That's why we need Bernie Sanders IMO. A man of the people, for the people.

Your recollection of the past seven years is apparently viewed through rose colored glasses as history does not agree with you.

The issues that the next administration will have to deal with are hardly mild but your adoration for Obama apparently blinds you from them.

The 2008 election is a reminder to the American people to never again base their vote solely on the candidates skin color.

You serious?
You don't think a nuclear Iran, or North Korea posses a problem?
You don't think another 911 attack on this country is a problem?
What planet are you living on?

Bob.
