Why are significant members of the GOP so quiet and timid about jumping aboard the Trump train? Too embarrassed?

Didn't you already try to do a topic about this? It was totally debunked.

This is your opinion, not based in fact. And you have made 1000s of negative posts about Trump on this site so we know you are ignoring anything truthful about Trump.

Wondering if any of the spineless GOP candidates take off their gloves with this idiot tonight in the debate.

I doubt they will.

I have no power to delete topics. If your topics are getting deleted, then I'd say the problem is with you. Of course someone who makes 1000s of posts in an election forum about someone they absolutely won't vote for, while completely refusing to post anything about the candidate they support, is going to run into trouble.

I think the GOP establishment -- also known as GOP members who are employed, educated and productive members of society -- see Trump for what he is. It doesn't take much to see. He's an extreme narcissist who is seeking higher office for no reason other than to gratify his gaping ego. We've never had a president as bad as him but other countries have. Is he Hitler? No, probably not. I expect no holocausts from a Trump administration. Is he Putin? Psychologically speaking, he's probably a tad worse. Fortunately for us, our democratic institutions and traditions are much stronger than Russia's were circa 2000, so Trump will have more obstacles to stoop beneath as he progresses in the direction he surely will take this country if given the chance.

If there are any statesmen left in the GOP, they will soundly renounce Trumpf if he manages to gain the nomination. At the moment, I suspect they are working behind the scenes to keep that from happening. I fear they won't be able to stop him. The Jacobian menace is too strong in their party. Trump may get the nomination despite their best efforts. What next? I hope their next move is to actively thwart him to ensure he won't win the presidency, even though that will mean surely throwing the election to the Democrats.

Are there enough statesmen in the GOP to do this? Hard to tell. I think the sensible among them see Hillary for what she is -- a moderate Republican -- so I can see them covertly and maybe even overtly backing her.

I agree with you about Hillary Clinton. Her real platform is no different than JEBs. However....

Moderate Republican = Moderate Democrat = Establishment Politics = Business As Usual = Status Quo.

People don't want this anymore and this is especially true among those who are employed, educated and productive members of society. It's the ones who aren't who are sticking to old school party politics.

This is why the true progressives in the DNC are lining up behind Bernie, and why the middle class is headed to Trump.

The part that he wasn't serious and that many like yourself have made bigger than the nothing it really is.
