Remember how all the conservatives said that Obama would not be supported by black folks unless he passed their litmus test for political correctness? They were wrong on that one. Then they said that black folks would not consider Obama black. Well, its the white folks who keep repeating he is as much white as he is black.

Now, in an effusion of political correctness, the conservatives are requiring McCain to pass a litmus test in order to be considered a "true conservative"!

It is to laugh. Last week Mary Cheney said folks should not be single issue voters. So maybe the conservatives can learn to support someone who is not what they consider 100% conservative?

This happens on both sides. The democrats fell over each other trying to prove points to their base.

I was watching Bad News Bears the other night (the original 1976 version).
The character of Tanner, played by a kid that couldn't have been a day older than 11, had a line...

"All we got on this team are a buncha Jews, spics, niiggers, pansies, and a booger-eatin' moron!"

Seeing this in action showed me how massive and pervading our present concept of "political correctness" really is. If a kid had that line today, Sharpton would descend, the media would howl, the world would come to an end...

Our generation might like to use cute one-letter definitions for "who we are" (Gen X, Gen Y, etc) but I think anyone born after, say, 1970, can be easily defined as being from "Generation PC" - dually defined by both the personal computer and political correctness.
