Bernie is a kook. He says open borders is a right wing thing by the Kochs. Meanwhile Soros supports open borders and so do Progressives which he is.

The employers and the illegal aliens are equally guilty. No one dragged them over the border to work here. They are both breaking the law!

(Compare that to Trump's talk about his wall ... while he says zero about the bosses who HIRE the people who come in, for their cheap and docile labor... What would trump do about the bosses? Same thing he's going to do about building a wall -- nothing. There will be no wall. It not only can't be done, it won't be done... And for you paranoid "fear the gubmint" right-wingers -- you do realize that a wall can be used to keep people in as well as out...? But I digress...)

Here's the Vox interview, and below that, a link to the transcript. It's a great interview. Enjoy!

Bernie Sanders - Vox

Hmm. I like this policy and he's more believable than Trump who hires tons of illegals.

Well. How about they are both to blame? I can go with that.

IMO, offering the kids a path to citizenship is the penance we all should pay for the parents being here in the first place.

The parents would not be here had there been no work. Instead of blaming the illegals, I blame. the people who hired them. And the people who profited from their work. We need a sensible solution to this endless conflict.

I heard Bernie say that we should give permits for agriculture, only. No body else. No H1Bs either.

Children shouldn't profit from their parent's crimes and these parents shouldn't be rewarded for violating our immigration laws by allowing their kids to remain here. These kids know the culture and language of their homeland through their parents. Kids sometimes have to move all over the world when their parents get a job transfer or move for some other reason so why is this any different? "We" should pay a penance for their parents coming here illegally? Are you joking?

The employers and these illegal aliens are equally guilty. No one dragged them over the border to work here. They are both breaking the law. The sensible solution for the American people is to enforce our immigration laws on the books and to remove all of the incentives for illegals to remain here, not granting them stays of deportation, legalization and a path to citizenship. It makes a mockery out of our immigration laws and our citizenship to allow them to remain here.

You're confusing yourself.

The Kochs and Soros are more similar to eachother than either are to Sanders. Both Kochs and Soros would support open borders and the obliteration of nation-states.

Indeed, Bernie does seem to have some notion of territorial integrity, and in that sense I don't see much difference between him and Donald Trump. However, in my view he loses credibility when he speaks in terms of "right-wing", left-wing etc. What the hell does that mean? I never saw such a thing. Please.

Moreover, indeed what is Bernie's stance on illegality, especially as it applies to illegal immigration and border control?

Territorial integrity and legality, then.

We need both, I think.

And don't forget the role of their own governments in this. They have classes on how to emigrate and get social services, so they get billions of dollars in remittances and also no need to create better services and opportunities for their poor people. It's a win-win for them.

Who shut down e- verify?

Any administration or Congress could have enforced our laws since Reagan. Not one of them did.

Business wants cheap labor. Bleeding hearts want to save the whole world.

anybody who eats out or buys a house, gets their lawn done, a roof, yada yada is actively participating in this illegal employment.

We gave them the keys.

You want it stopped? Don't re elect anybody.

It wasn't the Republicans who shut down e-verify. Here is a bill they introduced last year. Bet the Democrats won't be up for it.

What are Americans supposed to do stop patronizing any businesses because they "might" have illegal aliens working for them? That would devastate our economy. If you have knowledge that they do then yes stop buying from them but for the most part we have no way of knowing which ones employ illegal aliens and which ones don't. No "we" didn't give them the keys. It was our government who refused to enforce our immigration laws that did.

Old Glory, we know who they are when local papers do stories on ICE raids and fines and forfeitures.

It is easy to ask anybody one hires or anybody one is purchasing from who does the work. I do all the time.I do not buy Shipley donuts nor do we eat at Pappas restaurants even though the Pappas thing was many years ago, they still did it. You can find out who got caught all over the net.

If enough of us cared enough about illegals to ask a couple of questions, employers would think twice.
