I'm a registered Republican. Have been since my first opportunity, back in 1978...
Today, while at my polling place, I happened to see the woman's ballot in front of me (Democratic Party Ballot) while waiting to turn in my ballot. I was surprised - shocked - amazed - that the delegates listed, are DIVIDED BY SEX!
I thought the war on women was of the Republican party, not the Democratic side of the house.
I called the party - their answer was, 'we want diversity in the selection process'....
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
SOMEBODY WAKE ME FROM THIS NITEMARE! THIS IS 2016! WE'RE SEPERATING BY SEX?????
It's alabama, and putting males and females in separate lists is their way of thinking they have finally reached the 20th century... wonder if they also have a ballot just for blacks?
Added: OK, so I see there is actually a single Democratic ballot that they give to everyone, but, that they separated the delegates by sex, not the entire ballot. Perhaps they have a hard time being certain that if you wanted to vote for a female delegate you might not be able to figure out simply by the name? They also separated the delegates by candidate, so you apparently pick who you want your delegate choice to support at the convention. In a weird way, it all makes sense - but, I may have been hanging out in the election forum for too long!

The delegates are probably divided by gender to ensure equal representation between men and women among the delegates that will move onto the DNC convention.
