Where was all this GOP unity before the campaigning began? At this point, it may be too little, too late, when Hillary gets in, we'll have the GOP to blame for not offering a credible challenger.

The people felt like the GOP politicians that were elected were not representing them. This wasn't going to change unless these politicians miraculously changed their minds.

It's quite telling they are using the same tactics as the Democrats have for the last 8 years. The race card not only has been over played but it has just jumped the shark.

Trump may be stomach churning with some of his comments but still better than the smooth talking lying bstrd, divider, now in the oval office.

Trump expresses his opinion but defers to experts. So unless Trump is coronated king, he will be supported by experts of every stripe whose counsel he will seek. Unlike Obama who depends soley on Valerie Jarrett and ignores and replaces anyone not in alignment with Valerie's wishes.

Time the dems dropped the democart label and renamed themselves, because the dems and their priciple are long gone and replaced by socialists and not the democratic socialists of Europe. These guys are more along the lines of communist socialists.
I don't think it makes a difference but at least he spoke what on lots of people's mind. A straight shooter, MR, even though he is well aware of the backlash from Trumpettes.

Romney can't help being the old Mitt 'flip-flip' Romney. We don't hear from him in years, and when we do, he comes up with another flip-flip.
Maybe because Trump was not running for president then.

Cling to?

I cannot imagine clinging to any politician.

Every politician over promises and never fulfills all campaign promises. Sometimes Congress won't play ball. Sometimes those promises take major twists and turns and don't achieve the intent. And sometimes they don't even try. Yet every 4-8 years, the masses seem to believe this time will be different.

Just saw some excerpts of Romney's speech. He did a good job refuting Trump. Might not mean much for the primaries but that's some good fodder for the general. Although, Trump has provided plenty of good ammo for the Dems to use in the general anyways. Get used to saying President Hillary Clinton. Kind of rolls off the tongue doesn't it.

GOP had no hope of winning in 2008 no matter who the Democrats nominated.

I don't think the GOP wanted to win in 2012.

And here we are.

There's a risk when Congress and the President are aligned by party. Who are they going to blame when the next big thing hits the fan? Or perhaps they look forward to impeaching a Democrat President as a part of the bigger picture, long term plan?

Romney = Moron, traitor and part of the GOPe sheeple for starters.

Mr. Trump should demand that Romney give him back his 2012 POTUS run contributions after what he just did.

Default Romney says safe future 'greatly diminished' with Trump

Associated Press STEVE PEOPLES and BRADY McCOMBS, Associated Press 55 mins ago

The Associated Press has asked Republican governors and senators if they would support Trump if he becomes the party's nominee. Of the 59 respondents, slightly fewer than half could not commit to backing him in November.
Romney says safe future 'greatly diminished' with Trump

Doesn't sound to me like the Orange spray-tan-man-with-no-plan has a snowball's chance!
