He was doing his job, and there is no reason to think that Mr. Cruz didn't think the Texas prohibition against sex toys was constitutional.
Whether or not sex toys should be legal or not wasn't the question at bar, it was whether the current law was permitted under the constitution. I'm sure that if the case was reheard today, Cruz would have the same opinion
But at the same time, I have to accept the rationale his PR person gave. It was his job to defend the Texas Legislature's decision, whether he agreed with it or not.
Although if he had any principles, he would have resigned from that job rather than argue something that is completely nuts.
Yeah, either that or... he was doing the job people were paying him to do in Texas.
Some reporter should outright ask Cruz just where he stands on sex toys. God knows, that is such an important issue that tax payer money should be spent fighting against these!
Cruz's job was to defend Texas law in federal court, that's why he was there of course.
Further, Cruz's argument was whether the Texas Sex Toy ban was constitutional and not a violation of the 14th Amendment, not whether it was a wise policy or law- just that the state legislature had the right to pass it. not everything that is not wise is unconstitutional.
When did Texas ban "sex toys" and why in the world would a question like that, even be asked.
Sex Toys are sold like the Pampered Chef, in Texas. Ever walk into a "Taboo" store? Sex toys in abundance there. Sex toys are illegal in Texas... What a made up lie.
