As far as God involved in the United States, please read the preambles of all 50 states...every one of them referrs to God (Hawaii is grateful for Divine Guidance). I personally would prefer that it stays that way. Just my opinion...I know, everyone has one...just like everyone has mmmmm

Would any Christians/Catholic folk vote for Mitt Romny in 2008??

I am Baptist, not really into the Mormon thing, but think he would be great. I love his "no amnesty for illegal aliens" policy.

Honestly, McCain or Giulliani could be bad.... they are both extremely liberal. Will these guys move the base of the GOP?

How about Tancredo? Anyone think he will run just to put the illegal alien amnesty issue on the table for the 2008 race?

If the GOP doesn't take a hardline stance on illegal immigration, controlling the budget... we will see the 2006 election results repeated. Let's hope illegal take the streets again in protest in 2008 to raise the anger of the American people. I tell you, if the 2006 election was held in May instead of November, the anti-amnesty guys would have swept Congress!!

Depends on who his opponent is. I'm not terribly impressed with Romny though. His views are all over the place. He seems to change what he believes every few months.

If it came to a contest between Romny and Clinton, I'd probably have to vote third party on that one. Either that, or write-in "Mr. T."

Osama Bin Laden would be a better president than Hillary Clinton. Ok, exageration, but come on, America has much better people than Hillary she is a train wreck. We need stable folks to run the government, not someone who is so emotionally and mentally unstable from years of abuse by her husband.

Now, I did read one awesome post that asked "Today's GOP? About equal to today's DNC".

It is soooo true. One of the most terrifying similarities is that both the GOP (certain elements) and most of the Dems believe in pretty much open borders and amnesty and masses of workers coming in to depress wages across the board. How can this be good to US workers and US professionals? Don;t they know the only people who will benefit for an amnesty of increases in H-1B visas (professional foreigners who work for 1/2 the US wage and never leave after they come in) HURT US WAGES.

How do they hurt US wages? Well for one, the workforce in the US is currently overinflatated with people. For the first time since the 1920's, we have a lot more people than we have jobs. We have segments of this country that are simply living off of welfare. This segment of society are white Appalachians and inter-city African Americans. US companies prefer to openly hire illegal aliens than hire them.

There are too many aliens taking jobs that could and should be filled by US workers. The catch is that US workers are not needed, therefore companies are running teh show, setting salaries a sthey please. US worker doesn't want to work at 7-11 for $6.50/h? Fine, they get an illegal to work for $5.00/h. It takes a day or so to get an illegal to fill a job, very easy.

How is this encouraging companies to offer higher wages? How is this helping to get US workers off welfare into some kind of a paying job?? Soemtimes welfare pays MORE than those jobs. The whole excuse "US workers won't take these jobs" is bogus. The reason US workers won't take certain jobs is because the wages are so depressed and so low, people prefer not to take these jobs and live on welfare.

Remove the aliens from the equation, companies will be so DESPERATE to get a worker, they will have to offer a higher wage. This is very beneficial to everyone, in all walks of live. Supply and demand is currently 100% in favor of companies, because of the mass surplus of people in the USA (over 300 million... mind you the 300 millionth person this year was most likely an illegal alien... they have no clue when the 300th number was reached because the US borders are so out of control).

Any ideas/comments/hate postings on this?

At least Romney is the only guy currently running in 2008 that has consistently said he wants ENFORCEMENT of current US Immigration laws and beefing up the border.... the 2008 candidates really suck, but at least one is talking about one of the top 3 issues.... out of control illegal immigration...
