When Hillary announced her campaign, I figured that Bill would be a great asset, like "you are getting two Presidents for the price of one" type of thing. He is the most popular president since Reagan, and his speech at the DNC in 2012 did an excellent job of explaining Obama's policies. Many people in Generation X and before have very positive recollection of the 1990's economy.
This year, however, it seems like he's been a liability only. Obviously, all the purported scandals from his days in Arkansas and on are brought up over and over, and it must be embarrassing and painful for Hillary to hear about it repeatedly. When he responds to a criticism at a rally (e.g., BLM), he gets overly excited and starts yelling at the protesters. I understand why he might do that, but he must know that he has to check his emotions. And then there was that time when he entered into a polling station in MA, which could have been a violation of election laws there.
I really haven't seen or heard anything he has done that is positive. That's been very surprising to me. No rousing speeches, no insightful interviews, nothing. He looks tired, very low-energy. Granted, I really haven't seen or heard much from him during this campaign -- maybe I missed his better performances? I don't know.
Is he getting senile? Is he going to wake up just in time for the general election? Is he done?
Bill and Hillary are both a liability... and yes, he is getting senile
The world would be a much better place if they were both in jail where they should be.
I'll try to refrain from crapping in your thread Mick, so I'll just say that you are right, Bill isn't the smooth talking politician he once was, and his baggage is a problem.
When a dollar bill is worn out the Fed takes it out of circulation.
Unfortunately this is a different kind of worn out Bill who is proving to be a liability sometimes when he is speaking.
Seeing the clip where he was trying to convince the people of Kentucky that it would be OK to put them out of work because Hellary would be there for them with 30 billion and seamless transition into green jobs.
Well. I'd say for a candidate who likes to give herself high accolades for standing up for women, while this continues to go on from the barely legal category, I'd say yes, Bill Clinton is a liability.
Bill doesn't know how to NOT be the candidate. I'm sure he has been told to be more restrained as not to outshine Hillary who is nowhere near as charismatic as Bill. Face it, if Bill were running for president again he would easily win.
..... Face it, if Bill were running for president again he would easily win.
LOL. Nope. It was Bill Clinton that pretty much pushed Hillary's faltering 2008 campaign over the cliff.
The best thing that Hillary can hope for is the huge amount of additional baggage that Bill Clinton has accumulated since leaving office, stays out of her campaign.
