Trump won by playing a sound Electoral College strategy. It's time for the Democrats to wise up; winning New York and California doesn't translate into victory in the EC.
Not sure Amy can win elsewhere, though, but Rust Belt elected POTUS Trump.

The deplorable comment requires a heartfelt Democratic apology, and their Trade Stance will need to be modified to contesting all- trade pacts to insure they are good solely for America first.

Amy doesn't have anything to apologize for. She can win the Rust Belt from Trump. Democrat strongholds on the coasts will obviously vote for her over Trump. Her biggest challenge is winning the nomination over the progressives dominating the current debate in the Dem party.

I am not sure the electorate is still clamoring for supercharged protectionism. A lot of people with manufacturing and agriculture jobs/businesses have been hit with the reality that trade works in both directions. I think missing out on TARP will be a big mistake over the next 20 years as those countries are developing while ours stays relatively stagnate. I also wonder how some folks feel about all the handouts Trump has had to give farmers to make it through his trade fiascos.

To be honest I cannot see any Dem doing more poorly than Hillary. Simply winning back Mi, Wi and Pa would win the White House. Those were 1 point or less Trump margins. Next would be Florida which is still a crap shoot. After that the 4% states like Arizona and Georgia. It would be interesting to see if swinging Iowa back is also possible since it went from strong Obama to strong Trump.

Posting this thread months before 2016 election makes me feel better about how I am viewing Va as swing state again, in 2020.

These wonderful states decided the 2016 race.

They will likely decide 2020 also.

Polls in the rust belt show Biden, Sanders, and Warren all beating Trump. This idea that a progressive can't beat Trump in the midwest is often repeated but never supported by facts.

That’s why it’s best not to trust polls. Warren would flounder in a real campaign and lose in a landslide

Showed POTUS HRC winning them, too. Oops she lost the election.
