Yeah right ... and overall unemployment is 4.5%, except it's closer to 24%.

Turn off the TV.

Reality: US businesses use a international brokers to negotiate with the likes of PVH to source the cheapest global labor to create products to the importer's specification. When the importer specifies cheap, they get cheap goods. When the importer specifies high quality they get high quality and pay a premium for it.

You want a Trump dress shirt for $16.95? You will get a cheap quality shirt made in Bangladesh by people making .33/ hr. Bangladesh is not dumping anything on the US. It's US businesses that seek cheap labor and pay international brokers to make the best deal.

No way the US can or should compete for mass produced goods. The US continues to dominate manufacturing of higher end products like commercial aircraft and weapons.

The folk over at Airbus in France probably do a happy dance every time Trump opens his trap about trade. Yeah, slap a big fat tariff on China and it will come back to bite the US worker. Boeing would be challenged to compete with Airbus and unlikely to survive unless it relocated its operation to say Mexico, a country with more free reade agreements with the rest of the world than any other.

Bashing China is more populat than advocating for weakening the USD which is the real political message.
You are out of your mind, and haven't the slightest grasp of the subject.

On a scale, weapons and airplanes do not drive American economics. These are not commodity products produced on a mass scale, nor purchased on a mass scale. And Boeing became what it is today because of the American airline and military industry ... not because of China or Mexico.

Fortunately, more and more people are waking up, though not all understand the problems, they are realizing at least, that there are big problems. But sadly, many remain clueless, evidenced by the fact that there still are significant numbers considering Hillary Clinton as ptesident, akin to a bunch of chickens voting for a wolf to guard the hen house. At this point in time, with the unprecedented access to information available to almost everyone, there really is no excuse for the level of pure stupidity it takes to support a criminal of epic proportions like her. It just proves WHY we are in the desperate shape we find ourselves.

The mouth breathers would vote for her even if she were locked up in a federal penitentiary where she surely belongs, after decades of criminal conduct including fraud, money laundering, drug running, bribe taking, bribe giving, blackmail and worse.

How ANYONE can remain an establishment democrat and self professed liberal (or even an establishment Republican) at this point in history is a mystery beyond explanation.

Whether or not Donald Trump is inclined to, or even able to fix any of the problems we face, is completely irrelevant. What we DO KNOW (or should know by now) is that Clinton will do nothing other than accelerate the destruction of this country, and finish what Bush and Obama started.

United States Top 10 Exports in 2015:

Quote:
1. Machines, engines, pumps: US$205.8 billion (13.7% of total exports)
2. Electronic equipment: $169.8 billion (11.3%)
3. Aircraft, spacecraft: $131.1 billion (8.7%)
4. Vehicles: $127.1 billion (8.4%)
5. Oil: $106.1 billion (7.1%)
6. Medical, technical equipment: $83.4 billion (5.5%)
7. Plastics: $60.3 billion (4%)
8. Gems, precious metals, coins: $58.7 billion (3.9%)
9. Pharmaceuticals: $47.3 billion (3.1%)
10. Organic chemicals: $38.8 billion (2.6%)

Aircraft and spacecraft was the fastest-growing among the top 10 export categories for 2015, up in value by 49.4% for the 5-year period starting in 2011.

In second place for improving export sales was pharmaceuticals which rose 23.4% led by international sales of antisera, vaccines and human or animal blood.

American-made electronic equipment posted the third-fastest gain in value up 6.5%.

The biggest-declining category among the top 10 US exports was oil which fell 18.7% led by a precipitous decline in refined petroleum sales.

This ****ing idiot knows less about how the world works than a rock in outer space.

So the US is going to shut itself off to the outside world, but of course the outside world is still going to be desperate to trade with the US, will still be happy about the US military presence all over the world... and oh yeah, ISIS will be perfectly fine with America 'stealing the oil'-- as if that wasn't already happening anyways.

Hoover had the same strategy, but at least he had a depression and an institutional lack of insight into economics as an excuse... Trump is doing this because it feels good, he's on speed and people seem to like it.

I'm convinced that the real reason Trump is the nominee is because Hillary corrupted the primary election process to get him elected as part of her evil ploy to destroy the GOP forever. As long as the American public isn't as stupid as I'm worried they are, he's going to be utterly humiliated.

Trump, who has made hundreds of millions benefiting from globalism now denounces it. Nothing like biting the hand that feeds you. He has businesses all over the world, uses H1Bs, H2Bs, illegal workers, and even occasionally doesn't pay his models who are here on the visas he wants to get rid of. I don't understand why anyone trusts him on this issue. He wants to ban Muslims, but rent out huge spaces in Trump Tower to the Saud family. It's all just so hypocritical. No different then Hillary.

So, what you're saying is:

1) We want a candidate to do X.
2) Candidate A might not do X.
3) Candidate B definitely WILL NOT do X.
4) ...durr, let's vote Candidate B.

Those statistics DO NOT make distinction between American products manufactured in America, and American products manufactured off shore.

Fords built in Mexico are still considered American products... not Mexican products. Yet, to the American worker and our domestic economy, Mexican made Fords provide little value ... except to the execs and shareholders of Ford Motor Co. Same is true of Levi Jeans made in Indonesia.

And that IS THE PROBLEM we are discussing here.

Total fail.

The only thing Trump cares about is Trump. If he could bankrupt the USA and walk away with billions in his pocket, he'd be a happy man. He has no intention of fixing anything. He's already said that he needs a VP to do the parts of the job he doesn't want to do. Check out his history. If Clinton is a little con, Trump is the big con. And unstable on top of all of that.

That wasn't the question. You said borders are disappearing, is Illinois' border disappearing?? How?

You also mentioned culture and language - I was at Pilsen, Humboldt Park, and Garfield Park; yes I heard Spanish being spoken but also plenty of English. The menus are in both Spanish and English, the establishment can all speak English, the kids listen to Kayne West and Taylor Swift. Just because Spanish is prevalent doesn't mean the dominant language is disappearing you know.

No, you were blaming the immigrant for taking away law enforcement that could have been utilized to stop straw purchasers. That's very different from what you're now claiming you've said.

Huh?

Let me break it down for you:

- You mentioned borders need to be protected and worry that it is disappearing. This shows that the idea of borders is very important to you.

- However, in the very next post, you said that US could have invaded Mexico and taken out the cartels easily. The fact that we haven't done so is some kind of proof that US wants the cartels to exists.

- In order to believe the above, you have to have no regard for the border - that it's OK if we violate our border with Mexico and just barge in to do our thing.

- In other words, in one post you treat our border as sacred and vital; in the very next post you treat our border as loosey goosey

- Conservative logic
