WAPO reports today that Trump, who WAPO also found tried to stiff the veterans organizations, cheated people who worked for him out of their wages, and lied about forgiving his campaign loans to himself, also used money from his charities to buy an autographed Tim Tebow helmet for $12,000. Not only is this morally indefensible, it is criminal!

will be curious to see how trump's campaign spins this one. if the helmet and/or jersey had been on display at the donald j trump foundations offices ( or even in their storage ) there would be no violation of the "self-dealing" rule but........ there are no such offices/storage. the foundation is listed as trump's office and has no staff. so if it is displayed/stored there it is a violation of the "self-dealing" rule.

They are probably going through Trump's basement right now trying to find it, so they can do something legally appropriate with it. Every day that passes brings more evidence that Trump cheats and lies in his business dealings. His personal life is a similar mess.

Don the Con strikes again. How much lower can you get, using money from a charity, one that he presides over (but hasn't actually donated to in years) to buy himself a $12,000 collectible. I'm sure that's how the people who did donate to that charity wanted their money to be used--to buy gifts for Donald Trump.

Despicable.

i'm expecting the trump supporters to retort with "he donated to charity..... and you want to criticize him for it!"

Dumb Donald got into a spat with the Washington Post, removed their press credentials and kicked them out of his rallies. Look where this got him. Now the Washington Post is spending time uncovering Trump's past shady deals.

Trump is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

in of itself it is a relatively minor thing but taken with other examples shows trump, at best, has no concern for charity contribution and/or FEC rules and law. at worst it's an example of fraud.

It's an example of an outrageous sense of self-entitlement. A purported billionaire using money from a charity that he presides over, money that people donated with the intention of helping less fortunate people, to buy gifts for himself. If that's not illegal it should be. But any way you slice it, it's reprehensible.

And $12,000 is literally pocket change to a billionaire, which makes it even more reprehensible.
