A former aide to President George W. Bush plans to support Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for president.
“Our nation faces a unique set of challenges that require steady and experienced leadership," Lezlee Westine, who served as the Bush administration's White House Director of Public Liaison and deputy assistant to the president, said in a statement, according to The Washington Post.
"That is why today I am personally supporting Hillary Clinton. She has the expertise and commitment to American values to grow the economy, create jobs and protect America at home and abroad."
Former Michigan Gov. William Milliken (R) is endorsing Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
“This nation has long prided itself on its abiding commitments to tolerance, civility and equality," Milliken said in a statement, according to the Detroit Free Press.
"We face a critically important choice in this year's presidential election that will define whether we maintain our commitment to those ideals or embark on a path that has doomed other governments and nations throughout history,” he continued.
“I am saddened and dismayed that the Republican Party this year has nominated a candidate who has repeatedly demonstrated that he does not embrace those ideals."
Milliken said because he feels so "strongly" about the future of the country, he will be supporting the Democratic nominee over Donald Trump.
Taken aback by the size of Donald Trump’s July fundraising haul, Hillary Clinton’s campaign is quickly working to beef up its efforts to raise campaign cash before the fall — sending the candidate, running mate Tim Kaine, and former President Bill Clinton on an all-out financial sprint through August while explicitly warning top fundraisers this week that they need to pick up the pace.
In an internal memo, first obtained by POLITICO, that will be circulated to high-level donors on Monday morning, campaign manager Robby Mook specifically writes that the Republican nominee’s July haul overshot the campaign’s expectations, necessitating a new wave of action.
She has the expertise and commitment to American values to grow the economy, create jobs and protect America at home and abroad."
Anyone who makes such a ridiculous and disingenuous claim such as this could not possibly have a clue who Hillary Clinton is, either that or he was paid off..
He is not your normal conservative Republican... but he is not the elite global Republican either.
Definitely liberal in some areas, though.
