Yeah, I get it... trumpland, an alternate universe in which everything said by a trumpist is true, no matter how it is totally the opposite of what the trumpist said earlier. And, of course, everything said by the larger population is untrue, no matter what.

No, you aren't just seeing things, Trump has a history of mocking someone with a disability, and I agree, the title of his book was either deliberate or so poorly chosen as to reflect an utter lack of any sensitivity regarding disability issues.

Trump sees the word as a way to describe people who, to him, are to be reviled and rejected, as he claims his political opponent should be reviled and rejected for being "crooked".

To Trump, people who are "crooked" are revolting, undesirable, flawed, unworthy, corrupt, no good and worthy of rejection.

Trump is using "Crooked" is a denigrating term meant to appeal purely to people's sight as a way to judge others.

This is how Trump sees people. If you're "crooked", you're automatically worthless and defective.

It reveals something about how Trump sees other people that he would choose a visually descriptive word to describe his opponent in negative light.

People with disabilities often have "crooked" limbs and if Trump finds that word useful in describing the alleged flaws and corruption of his political opponent, what is he thinking about people who are physically "crooked"?

My opinion is this is a man incapable of seeing people with disabilities. People with disabilities will become even more invisible under a Trump presidency than they are now.
I have an adult son with Down syndrome, so, therefore, have been around a lot of children and now adults with mental and physical disabilities.

I find this post one of the most vile and desperate posts I have read on C-D. I think it speaks LOUDLY of the kind of negative thoughts that people harbor about people with disabilities. Only someone so focused on such a thing would make this post.

"Crooked" is not a medical term used for people with physical disabilities that I have ever seen and my son does have a deformity of one of his legs.

Sorry, but exploiting people with physical disabilities in this post or elsewhere in the name of trying to get the lying sack of poop that your candidate, Hillary, elected just speaks of just the reason that Hillary and her supporters are called "crooked" and without a conscience.

Get a grip and leave people with disabilities alone. It also would help if believe that are promoting this lie would maybe get a clue and update the terminology. Using terminology from a century ago just shows, well, we know what it shows. Only God knows how you must refer to other minorities!

If the OP's post bothers you, what does the video below do for you? Is your outrage one sided, or does it include the obvious disrespect Trump had for a disabled reporter. The video below nailed it for me with Trump. This above anything else he said before, dumped any grudging respect I had for Trump, and his followers. What kind of a jerk would do something like this ON CAMERA, and not apologize for it? No, I don't agree with the OP's assertion the crooked means anything but dishonest, but Trump is no choirboy when it comes to sensitivity to the disabled.

It seems to me that more than one person on this thread needs to get a clue.

Yes, you are absolutely correct, and if you really think "Crooked" means disabled, then you and your brothers really need to get a clue....

For all disabled people and people with disabled relatives , if you are reading this thread , then please accept our apologies on a deliberately nasty and confoundingly low brow attempt by some, to drag disabled people into a horrible race to the bottom.

Is there nothing sacred left to some Hillary supporters. How dare you all bring those vulnerable members of society into your game of lies and half truths.

Leave them alone and show some respect ok.

He's done more good for people with disabilities/illnesses compared to that one single time on the debate stage (and no, even though I support him I don't excuse him for that action on the debate stage)
And yes, Hillary had gotten her shots in at disabled/ill people herself - are you excusing her? If not, why not a thread about her hostile comments about "retards", etc.?

Finding out when Trump helps people is difficult since he often doesn't toot his own horn about it -- and I don't blame him since he would probably be overrun with calls and letters asking for help.

But he did help the sick kid in CA when the airline wouldn't fly the kid to NY to go to a hospital there, the airlines had refused because of all of the medical equipment. The kids father, who'd never met Trump, called Trump and asked for help. Trump sent his plane to pick the kid up and fly them to NY. No one knew about it until the father made it known.

Then one time Trump saw a little girl with brittle bone disease on the Maury show. He sent her a large check. I don't have a clue how much the check was for but it sounded like quite a bit since Maury said something about all of the zeroes on the check...

If "crooked" has two meanings, why be deliberately provocative? Why not not just say "dishonest"?
It's not being deliberately provocative. He's using an older term "crooked" meaning dishonest. I don't like that man one bit, but it's a common usage. If one wants to criticize him in reference to people with disabilities no need to look any farther than his mocking Kovaleski. That was appalling.

Have you?
Ditto. And now I regret answering the OP because I suspect the original post was complete BS from someone who doesn't really believe what they posted.

Contempt for the weak feeds well into the modern conservative psyche.
