Trump just claimed he would be eliminating the "Johnson Amendment" which is the basis for not allowing 501(c)3s campaigning for or against a political candidates.
while not an official announcement for reelection, Donald Trump has filed an FEC Form 2 in order to “ensure compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act.”
... Having filed (even if not formally announcing a bid) as a candidate, Trump would be able to coordinate with PACs and other similar organizations.
More importantly, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations would no longer be able to engage in “political speech” which could theoretically affect the results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election without running the risk of losing their nonprofit status. The move effectively bars interest groups from creating nonprofits which they could funnel money into for the purposes of opposing Trump’s initiatives.
He did this on his first day in office.
In other words, this throws a monkey wrench into efforts creating tax exempt organizations (Soros, David Brock) to oppose Trump, since he has unofficially declared candidacy for 2020.
That's really good... definitely ahead of the curve.

Trump will in 2020, because Putin will hack the voting machines again. US intelligence with a Trump Presidency, is like the Fox guarding the chicken house.
501c3 non profit organizations are not allowed to endorse or make donations to candidates. Doing so can jeopardize their non profit status. By eliminating the Johnson Amendment, non profits will no longer have to abide by those rules. One can theorize that it will allow conservative religious groups and churches to donate directly to the campaigns of those candidates they feel will support their views.
