Academics are confirming what we already know.

https://heatst.com/politics/study-hi...igns-in-years/

Quote:
A new study by the Wesleyan Media Project has found that the 2016 presidential campaign run by Hillary Clinton is without a doubt one of the worst-run political operations in years.

Interestingly, the directors of the study dispute the argument that “advertising doesn’t matter” in elections. Clinton’s failure to advertise in certain key states, they argue, was the biggest reason for her defeat by Donald Trump.
Quote:
The study also concluded that Clinton’s message was “devoid of policy discussions in a way not seen in the previous four presidential elections.”

I honestly didn't even know her policy's, except she wanted to continue Obamas. All her ads were either "Vote for me so we can have a female President" or "Vote for me because Trump is a bad guy!"

It is so sad that HRC never, ever had the opportunity to meet or learn from that candidate that created: "its the economy stupid", if she had ever spent time with that candidate, the results could have been vastly different.

(a) she believed the polls (b) her "deplorables" speech revealed the utter contempt she had for half of all Americans.

BS on the advertising argument. Not only did Clinton's advertisements in certain key states bleed over into other states on the local news network, her cable television advertisements knew no state boundaries.

Also, while Trump did talk more policy in his advertisements, let's be clear about one thing: he did a whole lot less paid advertising than Hillary did.

If people think Trump's television/radio/newspaper advertisements won him the election, they weren't paying close attention to the election.

Exactly. Remember how Bill criticized Obamacare? He was right but boy, he was told to get back on message -- don't want to insult the base. She hitched her campaign to Obama--a two-term president, popular within the party. Such a mistake. We, the middle-class are hurting--the Democrats used to care about us, but no more.

The Republicans need to pay attention to Hillary's failure--Trump was elected not because he was from a different party, but because he promised he would change things for the better. Fingers crossed...

The study does not say she ran the worst campaign. It addresses her advertising strategy and suggests that it didn't detail policy enough or be released in a timely manner, which may have effected her results. This is not the same thing as saying it's the "worst" campaign in years. I'm sure the OP has a reason for believing the headline the claimed this was the case....

I'm also not totally convinced by the study. She won the popular vote. And yes, i know that does not mean she should be president, but it does mean that her campaign reached a reasonably good sized audience; enough to win the popular vote. This is, ultimately, who the advertising is for, so I'm not so sure this can be called an objective failure.

She DID run the worst campaign that i ever saw. She would attend DNC fundraisers for $5000 a plate, She would then proclaim that she is for the poor, she would then attack Trump with out of touch elitist fake outrage, then she would go into isolation for 4 or 5 days and then come out and do it again. Meanwhile, Trump is selling out stadiums 4 to 5 times a day, 5 days a week. He showed he wanted the job, and was willing to run himself ragged to prove it. She didnt
