Obama would have won.
The man can deliver a speech like no other and with the press in his back pocket to pound home his positive message and the same press turning Trump into a Hitler many would have said Trump who?

The rest of the voters would vote for Obama so they can pat themselves on the back and ensure themselves that they are not racist.

If it was a choice between Obama and Trump the race card would have been used often and sadly with much success.

Obama would have won Pa. Trump barely eeked it out and Obama would have pulled enough additional votes in Philly to cross the finish line. The same can be said for Dane County in WI and Wayne County in MI. I actually think Obama would have also carried Iowa. I think Florida is the state he would have been most likely to loose and Arizona the one he might have had a chance to flip.

Everyone forgets that Trump only won 46% of the vote. As much as Obama is not the second-coming he has nowhere near the unfavorable ratings and character flaws of Hillary Clinton. And he actually showed up to campaign in all the states within a 5 point margin.

Well, to compare, Bill Clinton only won 43% in 1992.

Exactly. Hillary was just a terrible candidate. Obama would've beaten Trump. Hell, Sanders would've beaten Trump if the DNC hadn't screwed him over. Sanders is one of the very few (if not the ONLY) people on the left that conservatives have some bit of respect for, even if they disagree with him, rather than the kind of hate that got directed toward Obama and Hillary. I wouldn't have been surprised if Sanders had won support from a few moderate conservatives.

Hillary just had way too much heat from both conservatives and liberals to stand a chance of winning.

Interesting, before the election, many Democrats were saying Hillary "is the most qualified presidential candidate in history." And that "Trump has no chance of winning."

There were no overlaps between Clinton 16 and Romney 12.

So there are only 100 electoral votes in 6 states plus Maine (CD2) in question.

Florida (29) : my guess is Trump would have won Florida.
Pennsylvania (20) : Obama would have won!
Ohio (18) : hard to tell as it will be down to the wire
Michigan (16) : Obama would easily have won!
Wisconsin (10) : Obama would also have easily won!
Iowa (6) : hard to tell, probably within 1% difference
Maine-2 (1) : Trump would have won

Regardless, Obama would have won by keeping the blue wall intact by winning all of Hillary's electoral votes plus at least PA MI WI!
How would have Trump won Florida?
President Obama won the state TWICE !
TrumpPutin barely won the state with 1% of the vote over Hillary.

Florida was basically Obama's tightest race of 2012. His own people thought he was down by 2 or 3 but turnout machine and last minute breaking voters pushed it his direction. That is why Hillary's people thought she had it if she kept even in the polls. Only difference was Trump supercharged working class white voters & boomers while minorities & millennials felt little allegiance to Clinton. For Obama Florida was basically a ****-block of Romney that closed off his possible avenues. In 2016 it was all but necessary for Clinton since Ohio was out of reach and she's need to hold Va and al of the Rust Belt. We now know how that went.
