For those interested:

"Although people were surprised to see the unflattering clip at first, O’Rourke quickly flipped the camera to his dental hygienist, Diana, who spoke about growing up in El Paso with a mother from Mexico and a father from the United States.

When O’Rourke asked Diana what she wants people to know about the border, the hygienist replied, “It’s a beautiful community, we all support each other, we love each other. It’s not what everybody else thinks badly about us. It’s actually a wonderful place to live and grow up.”"

And, one of my favorite views in this country - looking across El Paso and Juarez from the Franklin Mountains.

I actually have a similar picture from last summer.

P.S. He'll be in NYC on Feb. 5.

I spent some time in El Paso when I was about 7 in 1952.
Tigerlily's picture brought back memories of that time. El Paso was much smaller then, but the scene was just as I remembered.

I thought it was a nice town back then, and I really had a good time there. I remembered that it was hilly, and that photo showed were the hills are within the city limits.

Yes, there’s a road, cannot remember the name now, that circles around the mountains that provides some of the most gorgeous views of the valley below.
That same road has some of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever seen. The sunsets they must experience daily!

I really love El Paso. The weather is great, the airport is literally my favorite airport in the country, shopping is good, housing stock is good as are the zoo, museums, etc.
I never once felt unsafe while spending time there.

I would consider living there if only it wasn’t in Texas.

Default Beto O'Rourke may not be running in 2020, decision could be months away

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/...s-away-1126571

Says he doesn't want to "Raise expectations" about a 2020 bid. He said he is still "exhausted" from the Senate race.

The Dems all seem to want either Beto, Biden, or Bernie to get the nomination. With Beto seemingly not wanting to do it at the moment, and Biden/Bernie getting too old, who do the Democrats really have left? Socialist Kamala Harris?

Kamala Harris was a right wing prosecutor.

I will certainly wait with bated breath for Robert Francis O'Rourke to make up his mind.

Too bad if he drops out. He and Castro are the only two who have any appeal for me. I don't know anything about Tulsi Gabbard...guess I'll have to look into her. Most of the others are past pull date, and Winterfall is exactly correct about Harris.

I think he's seeing what a free for all the Dem nomination race will be and doesn't want to be part of the $hit show. He'll probably (wisely) look for another state level race to run in for 2020. I don't know if anything is open in TX then.
