The most important qualification for a Vice Presidential candidate is his/her ability to be president. I don't think that Ms Rice has these qualifications -- I would love to see her as a senator though.

Rice is tainted by the Fail and AIDS of the Bush administration. If McCain picked her, he'd get no benefits out of it. Really, Rice seems like an academic pinhead- she thinks she knows alot but she really knows nothing: a sophomore. As a mouthpiece to the world for Bush's cowboy antics, she's a Kool-Aide Drinker First Class. At least Colin Powell had the sense to know when to leave that circus after he'd be used and abused. Aside from the "Bush can do no wrong and everything he touches doesn't turn to dog crap, it turns to gold" dying fringe of the party, she also will not energize social conservatives at all with her single, alleged Lesbian lifestyle and sophomoric, know-it-all-attitude - they like their women subservient, married, fecund (lots of children)... and straight.

It's not going to happen. Polls of a general election at this point is dumb and a waste of money. McCain is getting a free ride. Just wait until all the heat is focused on him. Rice? Yea right...McCain/Rice? We should elect Bush for a 3rd term and call it a night.
