Most people (including Trump in 2016) don’t believe what the government says about unemployment, GDP, inflation, and any other stat that can be massaged. Also, when economy is "strong," voters don't always turn out to say thank you. For example, the GOP learned that gratitude for tax cuts did not motivate voters in 2018.
I agree with much of this post but think the tax cuts were a mixed bag for the GOP. The middle of the country seemed to approve but I think reducing allowable deductions based on mortgage interest and state/local taxes hurt the GOP in the Northeast and in California. If you look at all the coastal California US House seats they lost and states such as New Jersey where they got wiped out- a lot of voters saw the tax cuts as working against them.

And a lot of the folks in the areas that are booming feel removed from Trump's focus on the Rustbelt and manufacturing. So they do not equate their gains with his policies.

What more do you want?

I want a president who doesn't lie every day, who respects our allies in Europe, who doesn't deny climate change, who treats the office of the president with dignity, and who doesn't tweet like a drunken sailor at 3 AM.

Many people want a president who stands for something and isn’t a corporatist, war monger. That’s why many left wingers will even sit the election out of Biden is the nominee

Trump won't lose votes for using rough language (because Biden does too).
And because Biden was part of the Obama administration, it gives Trump the chance to focus on Obama's policies, and that's one of Trump's favorite subjects....
Agree. I would LOVE to see Biden get the nomination. I think he is easily beatable for the same reasons Hillary was.....old, decrepit, establishment, corrupt...Why would we return to THAT?

Kasich is a Republican. Not really but he calls himself that.

Democrats are like little babies these days. Hold an old trinket in front of them and they grab for it. The MSM has promised them great things with 1% Biden and they believe it, as usual, without question or thought. They think they can get the hapless community agitator back. (forgetting that he was the one who destroyed the party) None of the others are going to get past all the road blocks the DNC will put in front of them, and not Biden, in order to insure they don't make it.

So they may very well nominate Biden and then Trump will wipe the floor with him. Biden's got all the baggage of Hillary, but none of the stamina. He's going to go down worse than John McCain did in 2008.

Finally, I've said before. The Democrats will never ever let Bernie get near the nomination. The people supporting Sanders ought to ask themselves why they continue to support a party that only pays them lip service, then laughs at them after they foolishly vote Democrat again. At least Sanders gets it. He's not a Democrat when he's not running for Pres.

Um, it's May.

Apparently, you're not aware that some candidates don't even enter the race until November, and they win it all.

It would not be out of the ordinary for a candidate to announce in November, win the primary and then win the election. It happens a lot, and it's happened a lot more recently.

Until the New Hampshire primary actually happens, all of this polling and wild-assed guessing is all for naught.

Good times!

I can't wait to see who complains first for not being included in the debates because they aren't polling at least X%.
