You really should read this if this is the way you feel. Ronald Reagan made this speech to endorse Barry Goldwater in 1964. It's a great speech by a man who said,

I have no issue with you supporting any candidate you choose. I just do not understand how you think that Hillary Clinton, who wants mandated health care (which I agree with), who believes that it does take a village to raise a child (which I think is true), who is prochoice, pro stem cell research, pro amnesty type immigration reform, anti war, and pro universal preschool, and no child left behind being completely funded is any less liberal than Obama.

I do not loose sleep at night because of Obama and his minions
I will work hard to make sure Obama looses
he is has a huge ego he is just like George W Bush
I voted for Al Gore who I could not stand and I voted for John Kerry who I could not stand because I am a dem that they were on the ticket, well NOT this time!!
This whole process has been bull.

OR how do you feel that her platform as stated above......would be best served by supporting John McCain. When my candidate didnt make it thru the primary last time.....I supported Kerry as the Democratic candidate. As much as I have come to dislike Sen. Clinton, (putting it mildly) and even though I have said I couldnt vote for her now.....of course I would vote for her is she were to be the candidate. The polls show that Obama's supporters would also...although her divisive tactics over the last several weeks have jeopardized the healing the party needs so badly.

I can get excited about a particular candidate...(Robert Kennedy was my all time favorite) but the party is the most important.

Obama supports the principles that have always characterized my party. I will proudly support him. I am concerned that Sen. Clinton and many of her followers seem to have very little alegiance to the party and to be off on some kind of personality cult slash and burn policy regarding the Democratic Party. That speaks poorly of her ability to lead and says volumes about her supporters.
Voting for the party every election takes away your freedom of choice. the party isn't always right---or the best choice.

In 1964 the Republicans nominated an extremist from the right, Barry Goldwater. MANY MANY SMART Republicans thankfully voted against their party and voted for John F. Kennedy.

In 2008 it looks like the Democrats will nominate an extremist from the left and I hope and pray MANY MANY SMART Democrats will vote against their party and vote for John McCain.

Those of us who love our freedom will not vote for a Socialist Barack Obama who wants to take those freedoms away from us!

This a common position taken by Senator Obama's detractors and as I have yet to see - has NEVER been substantiated by one shred of viable proof. Not One.

The one thing they often conveniently ignore is the candidates themselves stating over and over and over again, publicly - "there is little difference between us on the issues and our votes are virtually identical."

And, I will point out, that Obama had a huge disadvantage when he entered the race. The nomination was almost Hillary's for the taking. I don't know what else we can do except point that out to the women and hope that clearer heads prevail and tempers cool down by November.
Let's not get lost in the spin. Obama has won this nomination without the votes of bitter, resentful, and/or bigoted people. So if those people feel that their economic, educational, foreign policy, and health interests are better served by voting for Sen. McCain ...

by all means, let them go.

I can't think of an election since Stevenson when the Democratic candidate wasn't the best choice. I do exercise my choice when I vote.
I exercise my choice when I contribute my time and my treasure to support candidates whose positions align with mine or who help shape mine.....To my mind It is foolishness to think Senator Barack Obama, wants to take anyone's freedoms away. One of the issue he disagreed with Sen. Clinton on was she wanted to make health insurance MANDATORY, his plan allowed more FREEDOM.
The "freedom" to be unemployed, the "freedom" to have your jobs shipped over seas, the "freedom" to go to a broken down school, the "freedom" to sleep on the streets and in parks......the "freedom" to pay more taxes so the wealthy can get a break......those are the only types of "freedoms" he is working to eliminate.

By far, the most educated and sound opinions stated..... c/p for all to see again.

Sometimes bringing in the party is more important than liking the personality. Reverend Wright is a peripheral issue that does not speak to the promise of universal health care, a change in our foreign policy, a sensible immigration reform, etc. If you are happy with the way things are with the US in two wars, people falling farther and farther behind with lack of healthcare, and our fabulous reputation internationally, then by all means, vote for John McCain. It is time to be political adults and vote in the country's best interest, not a personal favorite. If the worst thing that this guy did was sit in a church with a crazy pastor, well hallejuhah brother, I can think of alot more baggage the other two candidates are carrying, and I would have voted for Hillary. My favorite was Biden, then Edwards, and now whoever gets the nomination.

Its amazing to me that Democrats say they would support and work for a candidate (McCain)who would end a womans right to choose thru his supreme court appointments, who believes the Bush war is fine and if we are in Iraq for another 100 years that would be just fine, and who has flip flopped and decided that he is now for the tax cuts for only the wealthiest Americans, and who doesnt support veterans benefits...because he doesn't want poor Americans to have any options other than staying in the service.

Democrats like that don't do Hillary any credit. If that is her base......who needs her. It's not about her, it's about America.

We need to swallow hard, take the Pepto, and do the "four more years". Until a SUITABLE candidate can be found for the White House. McCain too old to run a second round. Obama, along with the Congress, will surely destroy us if he gains access over the next four years. So bite the bullet.
