Do the other candidates stand a chance?

Quote:
Romney knows exactly what America needs to shake off the hurt of Obama's betrayal: a real tough guy like him. Romney promised to slash government spending and get the budget back in balance, to repeal that Europhile "Obamacare" law and get back to running things the American way -- before it's too late.

"In the campaign to come, the American ideals of economic freedom and opportunity need a clear and unapologetic defense," he said, "and I intend to make it--because I have lived it."

Romney is the weakest GOP frontrunner maybe ever. The GOP usually has a clear frontrunner already lined up and ready to wrap up the primary season, that's not the case with Romney.

how and why is Romney the front runner?

-he's the former governor of Massachusetts, a liberal state a lot of conservatives seem to hate w/ a passion

-he passed a state wide health care mandate, something most Repubs hate

-he's a Mormon, big no-no for the conservative Bible belt

got nothing against him, but I honestly don't see him being a front runner, unless I'm missing something (could be, I don't follow GOP politics)

Romney doesn't come across as a "real tough guy" any more than Obama does. For those voters who are yearning for a tough guy to kick butt, I don't think Romney will do the trick, even if he wears his plaid shirt.

Maybe he should buy a ranch.

Do you know what is going to happen to Romney during a debate with Obama? He will say I passed a healthcare reform bill based on your mandates while you were Governor! He is toast and will be labeled as a "Socialist"!

Romney is dead in the water and is wasting time and money. Christie is the only guy that has a shot in heck.

Default Romney a pathetic candidate

Romney about as compelling as lint. He's empty, is a member of a failed political party that has shown that it only hurts this country when in the White House. Romney was silent when Bush and the GOP were wrecking this country over 8 horrific years. He didn't come up with one alternative idea during the Bush era to combat Bush's failure to address every domestic problem plaguing this country. He's a fool. During the Bush era, he was silent on spending, silent on the deficit. He's too stupid to acknowledge the obvious good that this president has done given the colossal mess he was given by Bush.

If he's considered the frontrunner, then the GOP has REGRESSED since the years of the village idiot. I frankly don't think that the GOP deserves to be a major political party in this country any further. Candidates like Romney, Palin, Trump, Limbaugh, Cain...they all are atrocious.

We had the "pleasure" of having the Mittster as our governor for four years..talk about residency requirements--Utah vs. Mass, where does he actually reside? Some people still don't know, in spite of his home in Belmont, MA, just outside Boston..

Now in comparison to the other GOP candidates, Mitt looks like Albert Einstein, and somewhat reasonable, but he is something of a weather vane, although his extensive use of Brylcreem keeps his coiffe in good stead at all times; he's actually in his late 60s, although he could pass for 53..

Ultimately, he's going to turn himself into a pretzel trying to avoid comparisions of like-minded Obamacare and RomneyCare; and although he actually could give Obama a run for his money, once again, the GOP Purity Squad will try to nullify him, and Obama will say "Thank you", and make himself more comfortable in the White House living room..
