Equal pay is a problem for all working women.
* For women lawyers, whose median weekly earnings are nearly $206 less than those of male attorneys, and for women in office and administrative support, who receive about $71 a week less than male administrative support;
* For women doctors, whose median earnings are nearly $688 less each week than men's earnings, and for the 90 percent of nurses who are women but who earn $119 less each week than the 10 percent of nurses who are men;
* For women professors, whose median pay is $233 less each week than men's pay, and for women elementary school teachers, who receive about $86 less a week than men;
* For women food service supervisors, who are paid about $122 less each week than men in the same job, and for waitresses, whose weekly earnings are about $67 less than waiters' earnings.

While the breakdown for the jobs is given, experience, education, etc are not given. What was that about spinning statistics?

That is the study that was performed and is adequate.
If you could get me the numbers pulled from CNS and they simply showed Job Title, I would believe it to be enough of a baseline to see if there was a pay discrepancy in play.
But I can't find those numbers anywhere.
edit - Actually, upon reading the entire report, they also break it down to show pay gaps by educational level as well. Very detailed information here:

Obama's speech didn't even make that notation. He simply stated that women make less than men. It doesn't say for the same job. It doesn't say that all other things are equal. So why not call Barry out for that when you do the same for the CNS article? You want me to provide you numbers that you have even said you can't find, yet you allow Obama to make gross accusations and take him for his word.
Obama was pandering again. This speech was given at a time when he and Hillary were together on stage. He was reaching out to the female voters who supported Hillary. He was pandering. There's no change in that. Again, Obama is the same politician as all the others. The only difference is that his fans play fast and loose with the facts until they show discrepancies in his stances.

No.
Change change change change. Is anyone else getting sick of this guy's one word vocabulary? I for one never heard what this change is going to be. President Obama. Sounds so American doesn't it.

YES. Read and enjoy. This book is used yearly by not only professionals, but Millions of high school and college students, to analyze careers, statistics, average and starting pay, and occupation requirements. Perhaps you can find some change you can believe in.

Your Source...Hmmmm......
I dont see this information anywhere but at your source, or at blogs that link to your source.
CNSNews doesnt link to the Report of the Sec'y of the Senate. It says it took that data, to which it does not link, "analyzed" it, and sent its analysis to the senators' offices. Quoting them,
CNSNews.com sent its analysis of each office's payroll data to the congressional office that was the subject of the analysis so they could verify the gender of staff members, salaries and other information. McCain, Clinton and Obama each responded.
Because the report only covered a half year, the salaries listed for those six months were simply multiplied by two to determine the annual amount. In several cases, staff members only worked a portion of the six-month period. To arrive at an annual salary for these employees, Cybercast News Service divided the total amount they were paid by the number of days they worked, then multiplied that number by 365.

Considering the good senators history with woman, do they have to perform extra duties for their extra pay? Just what is it they do above and beyond what the men do?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm is this the smoking gun being released by an Obama plant?

From Obama's website:
Quote:
Fighting for Pay Equity:
Despite decades of progress, women still make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. A recent study estimates it will take another 47 years for women to close the wage gap with men at Fortune 500 corporate offices. Barack Obama believes the government needs to take steps to better enforce the Equal Pay Act, fight job discrimination, and improve child care options and family medical leave to give women equal footing in the workplace.

Where are his sources? What study is this? Obama claims it, you believe it.
