Pelosi and Reed take the bill off the table as Republicans said they will debate it only if their is drilling apart of the bill. Since the two democratic leaders are in the minority against drilling they made congress take an early vacation.

Yes the democrats are change we can believe in!

Once again thanks California your great leadership!

Thanks to the liberals, when the Republicans were the ones who wanted to tack on their own demands to the bill (7 in total), or wouldn't even debate it?

Yeah. OK.

No im thanking them. The bill was idiotic.

We live in a free market and with all this regulation we are going to kill it. Funny some who think speculators are not needed you should review what when when the onion speculators where banned.

See what?

There is are only two people that can kill a debate and they did. Try reviewing why she did it. She is one of the last people in congress who don't want to drill.

Looks to me like the Republicans effectively killed the bill by refusing to debate unless their buddies in the fossil fuel industry were given carte blanche to rape and pollute the environment.

Oh you must have missed drilling 101. BTW liberals are also jumping on board with the drilling. Just not these two clowns.

They need less than a .5% of ANWAR.

The bill was killed, de facto, by the GOP who insisted on larding up the bill with 28 riders and earmarks. The GOP wanted the bill to be so pork-laden that the DEMs would "kill" it. But don't be fooled by simple party rhetoric, the GOP killed that bill so their fat cat a-holes on Wall Street can keep the speculation game going that much longer. The Bush administration indicates that $40-60 / BBL is the price we are being ripped due to speculation that is allowed under the enron loophole.

That huge slurping noise you hear is Wall Street sucking the dollars out of your hip pocket. Bend Over - Here It Comes Again (BOHICA)
