Obama: 'Lipstick on a pig' (death, brainwash, women, most)

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

Now we all know here what he was actually saying (or I would guess most do), but that does NOT sound good and feeds right into HORRIBLE sound bites or quick quotes. What in the heck was he thinking?

I've used that phrase and I've heard it used many times before. Never realized it could be used against me in the future, so I'd like to know, what's the problem?
