If Gibson was so way off, Palin, as the expert on foreign affairs (or even as the novice, with great insight, plans and ideas), should have been able to explain to him why he was wrong, what he was missing. She could have said that there was no such thing as the Bush Doctrine; or, it changed over time; whatever.
She could have used that moment to educate all of us. She had the eyes and ears of the nation. She was not able to take advantage of that, to share her knowledge, and tell us how she would do better than Bush.
But the unedited video really showed how much in the headlights she was. I wish Russert was still here, Peter too.
I was thinking the same thing about Russert. This would have been a dream season of a lifetime for him.
