Actually, that's up for speculation. Obama's camp is whining that they came up with the idea first, but that's not entirely true.

...and didn't you know that the sign of true intelligence is the ability to focus on one thing at a time?

Say goodbye to Obama the follower. He is done.

I never got the bong, Obama has bought them all up to use himself or sold them to kids like he did when he was a teen.

Obama is no leader, and McCain has just shown us all Obama has NO CLUE!

Why can't they do both like Obama said?
This shows weakness on McCain's part. He can only do one thing at a time?
What is he actually going to do in Washington? He already said he doesn't understand the economy. He already said the economy is doing great. He needs to stay far, far away from washington.
He has had an awful week. If he bombs at the debate he knows its totally over.
He is taking an 8 count on one knee hiding in Washington.

This was a fantastic idea and shows that McCain is really wanting to make sure this is fixed and the right way.

President McCain, awesome leadership!!

We need someone like you in the WH to shake things up.

Obama is again finding himself following McCains lead on every important issue.
You saying this only shows that it is only political. What has happened overnight for McCain to do this? Nothing? Obama has been preaching this for months now while McCain just realized this overnight. America is not stupid.

Words, just words from Obama.

A joint statement. Not taking charge of this crisis.

McCain is not taking charge of this crisis. He is:
1. Dodging a debate.
2. Being coy on where he stands on the bail out so that he can check which way the wind is blowing.
3. Shamefully maniuplative of the electorate.

This was nothing less than a gratuitous political stunt by McCain - the mother of all Hail Mary passes. This economic meltdown puts him in a very bad position - after all, he backed Bush up to the hilt!!!

McCain is one of the fathers of this economic meltdown - he stood by Bush on 90% of his legislative proposals.

McCain still firmly believes in 'trickle down economics'. Well, this week we've seen the ultimate logical conclusion of that bankrupt philosphy.

You call this leadership by McCain - in a pig's eye!!!

Oh, so you stand with McCain in believing that our economy is in fundamentally sound shape?

Yeah, like Bush and the Iraq war. Fiddling while Rome, er, our economy 'burns.'
