Not bother taking a leadership role, issue a floor statement, or work down and dirty with the crafters of the bill?

I'm sure he'll "sponsor" the bill however. Maybe move to name it the "Obama finance reform bill."

What a lazy ass man.
Go back to high school civics class that you obviously skipped. The bill is still in committee, a committee that Obama is not a member of. Neither is McCain; there is no roll for them until the bill makes it out of committee. McCain is grandstanding, pure and simple. Get a clue!

You think that if they reach an agreement they're going to delay a vote until Obama flies back to Washington?

And even if they did, you think it's acceptable for a Senator to absent himself from all of the discussions and wrangling over the most serious issue in our country and then fly in to vote the way Pelosi tells him to vote?

You're trying to make Obama look bad but all you're doing is showing that you don't understand how things work in the Senate.

This financial meltdown is the biggest, most serious issue facing America but Obama won't go to Washington as the Senator he is to vote. Proves his ambition is more important than the country and what he was elected to do. This is what I expected all along. Why else with someone arrive at the Senate and then almost immediately begin running for President?
I would agree that POTUS has been his goal since that first day in the home of Bill Ayres. He has been groomed and trained by the best socialists...communists of their time. Alinskys prize students at taking down the government from the inside. The double talk in his books, the "present" votes, all blazing the trail for him.

This is not the first time McCain has done something like this. It was reported that he did the same thing during the immigration debate, and even got in a fight with John Cornyn from texas after he called McCain out on it.

It's called taking the lead by brute force - something that a lot of dictators do.

REALLY?! Then why did Harry Butt Reid and others announce YESTERDAY that they needed McCain in Washington but, alas, he isn't there. Now that he's reporting for duty, they're freaking out.

They definitely want his input; whether he actually needs to be in Washington is debatable. Obama has already communicated his opinions to his party leaders on the committees. McCain only need do the same.

Reid probably wanted him in Washington because he knew of McCains disdain for the internet.

Can you cite a source? All I'm finding is Reid saying that McCain's presence in DC wouldn't be that useful right now.

Lame. Reid doesn't know the meaning of "shut up and quit speaking for me," no matter HOW it's communicated. I hope McCain bi$%h-slaps him in person. Reid is SUCH a pansy.
