Are the Republicans arguing just to make McCain look good and so they can say it was his leadership that helped get this going? Why weren't they arguing about it beforehand? Seems like some political shade is going on!!

Most of the pinheads on here don't even understand what this bailout is about. Just like Obama. That is why Obama said he did not need to be there. He would not even know what anybody was talking about anyway. He is only good at campaining, and organizing the community. He would just be in the back of the room texting to Michelle. He needs to go back to the Senate and get some more experiance and come back when he grows up.

The Republicans have been griping about it all week. Wake up! THAT'S why Paulson/Graham wanted McCain to come back. Understand now?

Why the Republicans are balking:

"Shelby(R) held up a bundle of papers, saying he has "five pages" of leading economists saying Congress should be considering alternatives to the Paulson plan."

These are the economists:

So then what is Mccain actually going to do? Honestly...the question still has not been answered today. What can Mccain do other than sit around and listen to others talk and say "we need to come to a conclusion"?

Him being there is just as useless as Obama. Neither has a clue. Go debate. The symbolism of just being there is a waste.

The fact is that the same Repubs in the house that are against the bail out hate McCain too and he has no clout with them. This is falling apart because the libertarian leaning Repubs in the House are against the basic concept of this. There won't be anything McCain can do about that so he might as well go to the debate.

No desperation here. Mccain and Obama are both tools in my book. It's a waste to have either of them there.

It is a ploy to give Johnny an out for the debate! They don't want him at that debate anymore than he wants to be.

The PLOY... "He had to stay in DC to FIX the problem..."
