Do you feel us Americans deserve 20 percent cutbacks on Medicare and Medicaid?

I don't have a link but I was just watching this on the news. They were talking about it in relation to McCain kissing Florida goodbye.

Here's one: McCain's "candidacy at this point is like Rasputin -- having already been poisoned, shot multiple times, and clubbed, it has now been bound and thrown into an icy river."

The US Government is in debt for $59 - $100 TRILLION dollars, (depending on whos counting)... That means that YOUR HOUSE, is in debt to the government over $500,000 - $1,200,000.. I'd say the government needs to go on a diet, a BIG diet, and 20% cut back is just the start... (assuming your posting is correct)..

Yes, but lets just keep adding programs until we choke on our own debt..

That's the complete opposite of what he is saying here at
JohnMcCain.com - McCain-Palin 2008 (http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/issues/ - broken link)

MEDICAID AND MEDICARE: Reforming The Payment System To Cut Costs. We must reform the payment systems in Medicaid and Medicare to compensate providers for diagnosis, prevention and care coordination. Medicaid and Medicare should not pay for preventable medical errors or mismanagement.

Bringing costs under control is the only way to stop the erosion of affordable health insurance, save Medicare and Medicaid, protect private health benefits for retirees, and allow our companies to effectively compete around the world.

The problem with any governmental socialized plan of health insurance, the government will dictate every single penny that goes into a hospital, and if the hospital cant make a profit on whatever the government gives out, they will be shouting to be taken over by the government, next step after that, doctors become federal employees.. This says nothing about the fact that insurance companies who then will have ONLY the government as a client, will be able to then bribe senators etc for contracts or they will face going out of business. Think unemployment level is high now, lay off every single employee in the insurance industry and see where unemployment levels go.

But wait, theres more.. then the government will start to buy up the insurance companies.. (we have evidence last week that they will buy up private assets)..
