At least the issues with the past didn't come up in this debate. There was alot of talk earlier today on whether both candidates were going to bring up something about the other's past dealings. Glad that didn't happen tonight, it was clean as it should've been. Besides, past stuff has nothing to do with what can be done in the present and in the future.

If it had passed, we would not be in the mess we are in right now, methinks.
Except that, remember, that bill exempted the larger financial institutions from regulation, so I'm not sure I would agree that it would have avoided the mess. JMO.

Agreed. But "that one" kept him in line.

Congress had access to the same information that the administration did.

I hope nobody expects me to read 80 pages of comments before I post! I voted "Obama by a small margin." Maybe it was a tie but since I'm voting for Obama, I admit I probably am a bit biased.

I think both candidates performed well. I'm glad Obama held his ground since, at the beginning, Tom Brokaw gave McCain a little more time to respond. Maybe I was just imagining it, but that was my perception. Obama even said something like "I'm only trying to keep up with Senator McCain." After that, each candidate got equal time. Just my opinion.

I want to add that, just like the first debate, it wasn't too exciting.

Edit: Regarding healthcare, what Sen McCain fails to understand is that, without regulations on healthcare providers, $5,000 won't help people like me who are close to 60 and have pre-existing conditions. Even if I could find a good individual health insurance plans with affordable premiums, the deductible alone would be around $5,000. I also didn't like it when McCain started to preach about wind, solar...etc. when discussing energy, since he has a record of voting against alternative forms of energy. That said, he is looking for votes.

Well you enjoy that.

The only thing I would like to shoot is greedy CEOs but that's just me.

I just noticed that this poor excuse of a debate made me finish off my bottle of rum, vodka, and even got a few shots of tequila in.

I'd say that neither party won nor lost the debate. They both looked rather sad and pathetic to me.

If you feel obama won then thats your opinion.

I'm confident that McCain did better!
We'll see. But when 80% of the country believes we are going in the wrong direction, "safe change" just doesn't work. Obama won, he's just much better at showmanship, but he could have done way better with specifics. Lackluster performance on both parts.
